The Flash Audition tapes for next superhero to debut on The Flash

Some audition tapes have gone online for the next superhero to debut on The Flash season 2!

"the new superhero, who is named as "John Clark" in the audition tapes. (Keep in mind this is probably not his real name and just the producers trying to keep us nosey fans in the dark for a little longer). The character is an older man in his 30's to 40's, and even refers to Barry as "kid" in the audition tapes. He knows Barry's secret identity and has a rocky alliance with team Flash. The character also has trouble controling his powers and envy's Barry's ability to do so. This character is said to be one of the main characters for the season and will appear in multiple episodes."

Some other info from the auditions:

-The character got his powers from the particle accelerator
-The character's physical body was affected by the incident
-His powers are considered dangerous if uncontrolled



I was hoping that we would see Hal Jordan this season, but from some of the details in the audition scripts it doesn't sound like this is him.

Would love to see Elongated Man as well but this also doesn't seem to describe him either.

Any guesses on who the character is?

Odds are he'd show up in Arrow.

Doesn't sound like the Jay Garrick they set up with the helmet and being from an alternate universe/timeline.

Maybe it's an amalgam of a few characters. Some pointers to Batman and Jay.

My guess is Captain Atom.

That was my first thought as well. Could he be the pilot that went missing? We assumed it was a Green Lantern tease, but Captain Atom also has origins in the Air Force, doesn't he?

But Captain Atom was a pilot in the Air Force. The pilot that went missing was explicitly a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, and Hal Jordan is the only notable character that fits that.

It could be Captain Atom. They already mentioned him (well, his alias Cameron Scott) in Plastique's episode.

most of the description makes me immediately assume (and hope for) metamorpho... but the age and seniority demeanor over Barry suggest otherwise, as I'm fairly certain he's never had a significant age difference with Barry (if anything, i think he'd be younger, but they could be mixing it up).

also, it's hugely easy to imagine Cisco coming up with that nickname.

I dunno, I still think it could be Hal but the character description is just BS put out by casting director in order to keep the character secret from the public. That does often happen with casting auditions. They'll give a description of a character-type and the actor finds out later the specifics of the name of the character. That way there are less leaks and actors saying "Hey I tried out for Green Lantern!" . That guy certain seems very Hal Jordan to me but yeah, it could be another character as well. I do tend to think its gonna be a character from the comics and not some amalgamation .

That's exactly what I am hoping is happening too! The guy seems a lot like hal Jordan and maybe the dialogue they're giving him isn't even for his character! I remember watching it's always sunny audition tapes and they gave the actresses reading for dee Dennis's part in a scene just to see what they could do

maybe he is the "man who saved central city" witch the tile of episode 2x01 referes to...

I am no expert but that portal something time related...

maybe he was able to close the portal because his powers are related to time control...
like hunter solomon!

in the interviews it is quite obvious that he does not agree with the team's methods...

maybe he will take the reverse flash identity to push the team into being bether... like zolomon wants to push barry into being a better hero
