Author Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84

Word? Damn, that's a shame.

Slaughterhouse-Five was one of the few novels assigned to me in high school that I actually managed to enjoy reading.

R.I.P. Kurt

A nice Vonnegut quote:
"I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, The Beatles did."

It's too bad, but he lived a full life. He was an old man of 84. Nothing to really feel down about, but my condolensces to his family.

A shame, indeed. Player Piano, Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse-Five, genius.

RIP

"Slaughterhouse Five" and "Breakfast Of Champions" are both oustanding works. RIP Kurt. Kilgore Trout sends his regards.

loved Slaughterhouse Five

My senior year, that was one of the only books that I actually read from start to end.

RIP

Damn, that sucks. I read one of his books, Timequake (The Kilgore Trout reference Jag made is from that book, Kilgore also, apparently dies at 84) and loved it.

A favourite author of mine miles ahead of others and I'm very saddened by the news.

"We are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different." :D

RIP Kurt and GG.

Kilgore Trout is a recurring character in several of Vonnegut's books. He's also in "Breakfast Of Champions".

I've only read Mother Night so far, but he was a very talented writer and it's sad that he has departed from this Earth. :csad:
