WARNING: this thread probably will have spoilers

Now, that you saw Avatar what do you think is a good idea for a sequel or even sequels

I put in the poll some quick ideas I thought of some serious some not

What are your ideas?

I don't know if it would be a good idea but one would assume the humans would come back to destroy the place. then it would be the same plot as the first

I think the best idea would be no sequel.

a journalist and a camera team is send on Pandora to interview Jake. they want to make a documentary about him since he became a real na'vi. a real alien.of course they brought a lot of soldiers with them. so you have a lot of documentary style footage. and Jake explains how its on pandora and how it is to be an alien.
of course the twist is that they all came there on pandora for the rocks and for the na'vi.Selfridge is with them all the time. they found out that the na'vi blood can make people younger and cure them from cancer. so they kill Neytiri in the middle of the movie and then Jake pics up the camera( the camera is connected to the planet Earth with a 5 hour delay) and tells them:
'' I have are a very particular set of skills acquired over a very long time on pandora, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. I will look for you, I will find you. And I will kill you''.
so Jake takes a human body and sends hes mind in the body. the other half of the movie is on on Earth where he kills a lot of people. its a R rated movie with a budget of 350 millions.

its hollywood. you know that right now someone is writting this :hehe::awesome:

I can't see a sequel working. What would they do, have the humans come back and try to destroy Pandora again? It's best that they leave this movie self contained.

I like the beginning of your idea dark b about the journalist

the rest ehhhhh not so much lol

I agree but Cameron said that he has 2 sequels planned and Im sure the studio will push them out quick if this film does well

Exactly. The story of Pandora is over.

it would be nice to learn about why they needed the mineral in the 2nd film and get to see the future earth

would be stupid because already in this movie they had a lot of avatars.

before i saw the movie i thought that norman, grace and jake were the only avatars in the movie.

yea there was a lot more people using the AVATAR program and in the Video game it takes place before Jake came to Pandora. so this has been going on for a while.

I didn't understand the talk of not wanting a sequel after seeing it, now I do.

Although there isn't anything mentioned in the script , some people here were discussing a rumor of a 2nd humanoid race on Pandora. A race which was going to a pose a thread to the Na'Vi and the humans.

I do like that idea actually. If any of you guys ever saw/read The Time Machine , you'll know what i'm talking about. A gentle race that lives above ground and a more powerful , darker race living underground.
Not saying that the 2nd race should live underground but i do like the idea of the Na'Vi going up against a powerful enemy of Pandora .
Combine that with the civil war idea and i do think there is some interesting storylines.

Also it would be interest to explore the gaseous planet itself. With Pandora established as a living planet , what would the state be of Prometheus. Is it also a living planet ?

someone will say '' but they didnt mention them in this movie''why would they? the story didnt need it. if the story didnt need to mention humanoid monsters then its fine.

but this could be interesting. na'vi are in touch with the planet pandora. the other race would just kill everything and eat everything.

Precisely. The storyline in Avatar was focused on the Na'vi. The sequels should definately focus more on Pandora's exploration. We only got a glimpse of Pandora to be honest. When Jake is calling all the other Na'Vi tribes you see tribes who are have loads of Na'vi horses. You see other tribes living near the sea. Before the movie came out , no one knew there were more Na'vi tribes.

So it's definately IMO something interesting to have other humanoid races on Pandora.

i agree. it was such a big surpise to see how different they were.

It says earth is a dying planet at the end of the film and that could tie into it . I didn't know Cameron was intending to do more.

yea he said if this movie did well at the BO, then he will do 2 more

Sequal as a short film:

A whole heap of Na'Vi are standing around in a clearing. Superman flies in. Punches each and every one of the Na'Vi into the sun before walking towards the camera, grabbing Cameron from behind the camera and saying "How do you like me now, b****! SUPERHEROES, WHAT!!!" throwing him to the ground in front of the camera and then flying away to the horizon whilst James Cameron is on hands and knees wondering what the hell just happened.

Roll credits.
