Assuming Captain Marvel is set entirely in the 90s bar possibly a post-credits scene, and assuming also that Ant-Man and the Wasp don't return from the cosmic realm and discover the fallout from Infinity War until right at the end of their movie, This is how i expect to be watching the movies in the run up to Avengers 4 in 2019...

Day One: the 21st Century...
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)
"Agent Carter"
CAPTAIN MARVEL (2019)

Day Two: Iron Man 2 follows the first one and leads via the one-shot into Thor
IRON MAN (2008)
IRON MAN 2 (2010)
"A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer"
THOR (2011)

Day Three: The events of TIH run concurrently with IM2 and Thor, so i think it works to leave it until here then skip back, Plus it links to the first Avengers movie via the one-shot
THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008)
"The Consultant"
AVENGERS:ASSEMBLE (2012)
"Item 47"

Day Four: Possibly my two least favourite MCU films, but I still like them for how they tied to Agents OF SHIELD's first season
IRON MAN 3 (2013)
"All Hail The King"
THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)

Day Five: A solid pair of ensemble movies, and two of the MCU's best offerings, which work together because what sits inbetween is set in space
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)

Day Six: GOTG double bill that actually takes place before Age Of Ultron, but works as a jump back because of it's cosmic setting
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014)
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Part 2 (2017)

Day Seven: The end of Phase 2 and start of Phase 3 with Ant-Man appearing throughout
ANT-MAN (2015)
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)

Day Eight: The new characters from Civil War in the weeks and months following those events
BLACK PANTHER (2018)
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017)

Day Nine: A multiverse themed double-bill, much of which, again, takes place not long after Civil War
DOCTOR STRANGE (2016)
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (2018)

Day Ten: The Cosmic Triple
THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)
AVENGERS 4 (2019)

...How will you do it?

My job and other commitments would never allow me to watch all the films in a row...but I'm going to try and do the one a week thing just going in order of release

I'd still watch Cap as a flashback since his movie ends where Avengers Starts. Probably put Guardians after TDW since that's where it takes place in time.

Then I'd put Dr Strange around the time frame of Ant-man or Civil War. That way he doesn't look so glaringly improved in Ragnarok.

I like the idea of this stuff but I always end up watching them in release order. Same goes for Star Wars even though it's totally clear what order to watch them in chronologically for the events of the films.

I like Cap as the start of the whole lot,

As for Strange, it's mainly because it ends later than Spidey that I think it fits best there, and if rumours about Ant-man And The Wasp's setting are correct, then that is happening first around the same time as Black Panther and Homecoming and then at a micro verse-distorted rate ending just after Infinity War, so placing it between Strange and Ragnarok emphasises the time between those two movies (and we may get a cameo from Strange during this time), and makes Ragnarok a cosmic prelude to IW

From what Ive seen looking round the web, some people put the GOTG films before Winter Soldier in terms of preferred watch order, and I'm leaning toward that myself.

:)

I just did one leading up to Infinity War so I'll do a mini one for Avengers 4.

I'll probably just watch Captain Marvel, Avengers, Ultron, Civil War, Ragnarok, Infinity War and maybe Ant-Man and the Wasp again, judging on how it fits in the timeline and all that.

Maybe the first Guardians too just because.

That looks pretty awesome but I would swap Ultron and Guardians 1 around. If you wanna follow the story from a chronological perspective but still wanna watch full movies though, your list seems the best bit with that one little correction I will do personally for my watch. :) Great job.

I would try to do 10 days like OP. :D that sounds kinda fun. I didnt do an official marathon for IW, so maybe I will by the time A4 rolls around...

Day One:
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011)
"Agent Carter" Perhaps even more of the TV show. I've only seen season 1.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008) I think this works the best the furthest from Ruffalo's performance. Plus my headcon puts this in the early 2000s.
"The Consultant"

Day Two:
IRON MAN (2008)
IRON MAN 2 (2010)
"A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer"
THOR (2011)

Day Three:
THE AVENGERS (2012)
"Item 47"
IRON MAN 3 (2013)
"All Hail The King"

Day Four:
THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)

Day Five:
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)
ANT-MAN (2015)

Day Six:
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017)

Day Seven:
BLACK PANTHER (2018)
DOCTOR STRANGE (2016)

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Part 2 (2017)

Day Nine:
THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (2018)

Day Ten:
CAPTAIN MARVEL (2019)
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)
AVENGERS 4 (2019)

Yup, I think my preferred viewing order has definitely now changed to...

Day One: the 21st Century...
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011) (1940s)
"Agent Carter" (1940s)
CAPTAIN MARVEL (2019) (1990s)

Day Two: Iron Man 2 follows the first one and leads via the one-shot into Thor
IRON MAN (2008)
IRON MAN 2 (2010)
"A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Thor's Hammer"
THOR (2011)

Day Three: The events of TIH run concurrently with IM2 and Thor, so i think it works to leave it until here then skip back, Plus it links to the first Avengers movie via the one-shot

IRON MAN 3 (2013)
"All Hail The King"
THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)

Day Five: GOTG double bill that happens between Winter Soldier and Age Of Ultron but works here because it's cosmic setting doesn't jumble the narrative of the earth-based stories
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014)
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Part 2 (2017)

Day Six: A solid pair of ensemble movies, and two of the MCU's best offerings, which work together because what sits inbetween is set in space and can be watched before or after
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014)
AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015)

Day Seven: The end of Phase 2 and start of Phase 3 with Ant-Man appearing throughout
ANT-MAN (2015)
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)

Day Eight: The new characters from Civil War in the weeks and months following those events
BLACK PANTHER (2018) (2 weeks after CW)
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING (2017) (2 months after CW)

Day Nine: A multiverse themed double-bill, much of which, again, takes place not long after Civil War
DOCTOR STRANGE (2016) (pre-Ant-Man - post-Homecoming)
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP (2018) (If Strange has a cameo as rumoured that's more than likely going to be for him, after his origin story but before his appearance in Ragnarok)

Day Ten: The Cosmic Triple
THOR: RAGNAROK (2017)(Which may end up being a step back from Ant-Man And The Wasp's climax but not from the bulk of the story, and Ragnarok's been stated to be the last chronologically before Infinity War)
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018)
AVENGERS 4 (2019)

I'll need a month prior to A4 to get it done.
