Apparently Joss Whedon's first cut was over 3 hours, meaning there is 45 mins - 1 whole hour of deleted scenes on the cutting room floor.

Plus today a rumour is going around of a potential AOU Extended Edition

I think now is a good time to speculate or post images from the trailer that weren't in the film...

We never actually see Hulk transform on screen in Age Of Ultron – the only change is when he reverts back to Bruce in the opening. Most likely this scene came Scarlet Witch was getting inside Banner’s head ahead of the Hulkbuster showdown, given the background appears to be the Avengers’ Quinjet.

In the second trailer, there’s a shot of Black Widow wielding two big weapons while walking through what appears to be Sokovia. Widow and Hulk aren’t that prominent through the first half of the film’s massive finale – they jump up to the flying city and then disappear – so this shot probably comes from some small set-piece involving them during that time.

The only really interesting thing to me here is Thor's quest.

Months ago Idris Elba claimed Tom Hiddleston has a cameo. It doesn't appear in the movie, so methinks it was a vision or something from the greatly reduced Thor quest subplot.

Why did Thor visit Selvig? I mean, he waited for him to come out of class, they step in the car and Thor walks into the water. Selvig just stood there doing nothing. How could they not see that when editing?

Lots of strange edits throughout the film imo, felt like plots were dropped and picked up at random (Thor's subplot especially)

I bet that other ending would have been the Captain Marvel rumour floating around... Not sure about an Extended Edition, that's not really Marvel's thing (TDW would have been ripe for that)

There wasn't a Captain Marvel ending, she was just supposed to appear at the ending alongside Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, and Vision.

The scene they shot of Wanda levitating in was supposed to be Carol.

ATJ mentioned a scene where Thor's cape gets on fire and Quicksilver puts it out. Also, Elizabeth Olsen hinted towards a storyline involving alien/robots (possibly Chitauri?) getting removed.

I doubt there will be an extended edition though. Especially since many of the deleted scenes will require post-production work.

Makes you wonder what was meant to happen to SW...

I'm a little disappointed that Hiddleston wasn't there.

I have the feeling that the original plan was that Thor discovered in his vision that Loki was alive and ruling Asgard (so that would've been the reason for him to leave the team at the end of the movie).

Maybe they then decided that it would be better that Thor learned that Loki is still alive not before Thor 3 and cut the scene from AoU?

Yeah I was thinking that too. Maybe Loki had heimdell' role but after idris's comments he had to get back into marvels good books as soon as possible.

Anyway, I reckon there's a ton of Ultron that ended up getting chopped. A little bit more of his creation and his hatred of Tony for example?

They cut the Widow scene? Damnit. :cmad:

a lot of stuff from the trailers wasn't in it

You know it's a shame, because there were a lot of little gaps here and there. We didn't get enough of Ultron's origins and upgrading and Thor's quest as noticeable in its absence. The film could easily have been twenty minutes longer.

I'm glad Loki wasn't in it. Was nice to let the film move without falling back into Loki for fangirl reasons. There was no need (but then the same can be said for Heimdall's bit)

It was quite obvious they chopped a lot of scenes. Like some scenes just came and went especially after the 1st act. It wouldn't feel so choppy if they didn't delete so many footage. The film had editing problems.

they must have cut a ton of Thor's storyline

There was on in the trailers where it looked like Ultron had lifted his arm with hot vibranium on it. And I couldn't quite work out if he was made of it at the end. Wondered when Thor, Vision, and Iron Man focussed on him at the end if that melted vibranium or not.

One of the biggest problem of this movie :o. It's really bad.

And seriously an extended cut would be very well welcomed! Because MARVEL/Whedon did a terrible job on this one in the editing process.
Many of the flaws comes from the cuts. Everything feels very rushed!

(Kinda reminds me of The Hobbit 3)

It's suture like this and Whedons comments about the deleted scenes being great that makes me think Marvel wanted the movie shorter than the first and Whedon was sticking up for them saying he wanted it shorter. I haven't seen the movie yet but I thought the run time seemed too short when it was announced considering what it had to deal with. And it seme that's the case. I still think I will love the movie but given some of the complaints I hope the rumours of an extended edition are true.

Another potential deleted scene.

Yep, this one, which I thought was Ultron getting a vibranium upgrade. So was wondering was he vibranium at the end when Iron Man, Vision, and Thor unloaded on him?
I thought yes, because any other metal would pretty much be blasted just by Thor

The Vision opening his eyes scene was in the movie, as a part of Thor's vision
