These two movies have their fans and detractors, and they have similar strengths and weaknesses, so I thought they would make an interesting match in a poll. Take your pick which you think is better.

Ultron without question. Acocalypse felt like a poor mans MCU that came out 10 years too late.

Ultron by a landslide, and I don't care for it much (it's a fun watch though).

Apocalypse is a turd movie.

The movie where the final battle isn't 5 minutes of one character telling the other character to unleash their power.

Ultron is incomparably better. Not even funny.

Ultron. Though I do like Apocalypse. Warts and all.

Ultron easily. And I never particularly cared about Avengers comics, while I was crazy for X-Men.

Ultron. Both have thin plots with a world-ending supervillain but at least Ultron is actually exciting and has entertaining action.

I know Age of Ultron will win this poll by a lot, because it is Marvel, but eh, they're about even.

I will give the edge in my vote to Apocalypse, because I liked Phoenix, the Quicksilver scene, the scene where Erik loses his family, and the amazing Beethoven/nuclear scene with Apocalypse. It is the one scene where the villain lives up to his promise, but it's one more than Ultron ever got. I also think the only scene with any life in AOU is the party scene. It is great, hence why all of the marketing was built around it.

But the rest of Ultron is pretty blah. Maybe so is Apocalypse, but I liked a few more elements in it. At least Apocalypse felt like a (bland) movie. Ultron to me felt like a sitcom. And not a very good one when it was trying to force that horrible Black Widow/Hulk love story. As well as how it awkwardly would come to a screeching halt to set up Thor 3. Then again, so did Apocalypse just to fan service Wolverine. But I like Wolverine more than Thor, so that gives it a nudge too, and at least it was fan servicing this movie and not one that two years later still has not come out. ;)

P.S. Apocalypse hands down had a better score though. Call the movie mediocre, but that music was fire.

Utron by a country mile. Apocalypse is probably one of the most useless CBM entries ever.

Public perception doesn't mean everything, but Apocalypse made about 550M world wide. Ultron made 1.4 billion world wide. Let that sink in a moment.

Yeah, in no universe ever is Apocalypse even remotely on the same level as Age of Ultron.

They are pretty much even for me. There was some things I dug about it and some things I was bored by.

At least the action and vfx work in AOU doesn't look like something from the 80's.

I said this many times already,AOU is one of my favourite CBMs. I enjoy it more than Avengers.

AoU by far. Most of it's failings were that it's too much like the first Avengers.

Age of Apocalypse could've done with some more Days of Future Past.

AoU has become my least favorite of the MCU films, but I would still easily put it above Apocalypse.

Age of Ultron, and its not even close. Apocalypse has basically one good scene in it. Avengers 2 is all around quality stuff, just not as good as the first.

The director wanted to match the quality of the special effects to match the time period. ;P

apocalypse and it's not even close.i feel after dark the upcoming clusterf-ck
that is dark phoenix x-men fans will appectae apocalypse more.

age of ultron just crystals fact i am so over downey's stark.he sets stage for what occurs in age of ultron and nobody blames him for anything.

the bannerblack widow relationship is even worse than mystique/beast which i have critzed.i like scarlett johansson as black widow but age of ultron by far was worst film for her.even iron mman 2 is better.

ultron is far worse than apocalypse.

let me frank even if dofp or logan or deadpool would be in this poll a mcu would likely beat it since x-men is b=rd stepchild on this form.dark phoenix doesn't even have it's own forum yet while a marvel or dc film with title, release date, cast and director and filming would have.

captain america saves age of ultron for me.i have grown to be more fond of elizabeth olsen as scarlet witch.

In 2014, there were 2 best of for CBM. TWS won one. DOFP won the other.
