According to Wikipedia, the Avengers Mansion was based upon the Frick Collection building near Central Park. Check the similarities:

So, here is the question: Should the movie Avengers have a Mansion- and if so, should they use the Frick Museum (similar to how the Daily Bugle was in the Flatiron Building)?

No mansion. Use the Triskelion.

Chances are they'll be based out of the Triskelion/a helicarrier. The mansion is a little hokey these days.

I think they should just all crash at Tony's house.

The mansion should be in it but as a kind of public front. A sort of SHIELD PR exercise to reassure the public that The Avengers are on our side.

Definately should be the classic Avengers Mansion! It should be set up with the delema of finding a place to centralize the heros place of residence and give them a proper headquarters. The logical choice being the Stark families New York mansion. Where Tony spent much of his youth. Since his rise to the top of Stark Industries, he has occaisionally updated the old family manse with top notch security, a heli-port of course, and labs wich he can work in when he is in town or on vacation.
But since he spends most of his time out in Cali., the responsibility of upkeep and running the staff in New York falls upon,.....wait for it.....
Howard Stark and the Stark family's head servant,...Jarvis the butler!
Yes, Jarvis! The person that Tony named his AI computer set up in Cali after!!! To make it more like home and more like family.
Billionare industrialists and such do have butlers. Other people other than Bruce Wayne ARE allowed to have butlers! And imagine the interactions between Jarvis and Thor, "...Master Thor,..please remove you feet from the funiture!"

And imagine the interaction between Edwin Jarvis and the AI Jarvis after Tony uploads him to New York to help with Avengers affairs!

I think they should have the Mansion in Manhattan along with the Triskelion off shore and the Hellicarrier in the sky.

...I hope that there is some hybrid of the Triskelion at the coast/shore and a mansion inland.. also there needs to be a Danger Room so there can be a cool training sequence..

The mansion could be a bit of a cliche really. I know they had a mansion in the comics but when they left it I was kind of glad. Same with Jarvis, it's been done.

A tower would be fun or something more militaristic. Even if they had their own helicarrier at the start, that would be cool.

I'd say include it, but not as a base of operations. That's stupid. "Hey, supervillains, want to get the Avengers, just bomb the Frick Building in Central Park...that'll work". The Triskelion makes more sense. If it's included I'd have it simply be a piece of property Tony owns that they occasionally crash at.

Hellicarrier or Triskelion only IMO. The hellicarrier would be iconic on the big screen.

I doubt the mansion would be your run of the mill structures. Same goes for the Baxter Building or the X-mansion.

Are all the structures around it run of the mill? It's an insanely stupid security risk to have the Avengers operating out of a building next to central park. It's like putting a prison for sexual offenders next to a preschool.

I say introduce it later on in the film, once the team is fully together and something resembling cohesive.

I think the movie should end with the Avengers getting the mansion, as a tease for what's to come in future movies.

The Justice League gets a space station. The Avengers get... a house?

I acutally like the Avengers Mansion alot more than the Justice League's Space Station.

No. I think this movie should be like Fantastic Four that they form the group at the end of the movie.

Bah, what's a little collateral damage in the fictional MCU.

It really doesn't make sense for the Avengers to have a mansion right downtown near central park ... but I've always loved the Avengers Mansion. It shouldn't make sense, but I kind of want to see it included.

I would rather if they form to deal with a threat like a brainwashed Hulk then call themselves Avengers then go all out for the final act as a well trained tactical squad as the Avengers.

I mostly agree. I don't want the whole movie to be a build up to them becoming the Avengers. If there is another Avengers movie, it won't be for quite a while since Marvel will probably want to do more solo films for a while. I don't want them to hold back so they can go all out in a hypothetical Avengers 2, because this movie needs to end on a note where it's easy to transition back to solo stories about the individual heroes.
