The Avengers So Should Louis Letterier Helm The Avengers or what?

Why should he get a shot? Because he did an average Hulk movie that had a lot of creative tension between Marvel and Ed Norton?

Leterrier can make a movie that looks decent and pretty, but he doesn't get the feeling and charm and excitement these movies should have.

Clash of the Titans was beyond dull. It proves he's not a true fan of the original nor does he understand what makes the original great. He compares comic book superheroes to Greek Gods, yet his interpretation of the Gods of Olympus was beyond lame. The Gods were all insignificant minor characters in his story.

Wow what a strong opinion. I hope this isn't because of the apparent lack of support for your boy Raimi.

Anyway, I didn't find COTT dull at all. I thought it was rather enjoyable. Yes there was some cheezy stuff in it, but the overall picture is also a function of the writing and not just the directing. And how does the final product show that he is not a true fan of the original? And the story isn't (and never was) focused on the gods. It was a different take on the story. I was fine with the movie. And I have a feeling that most of the backlash results from the bad 3D effects, which will surely bias a reviewer and anyone else. I didn't see it in 3D and again, IMHO, it is better than the majority of the reviews

So, I wouldn't be disappointed at all if they gave Avengers to him. But I have a feeling they will put him as a producer much like Favs.

I was "maybe so." Then I saw the COTT remake and was appalled.

Letterier's work on TIH was very good, but I saw none of that sublety in COTT. The action scenes are either too edit-happy or poorly shot, and I didn't give a damn about any of the characters.

So no. Someone else should have a crack at The Avengers, but keep Letterier far from it.

Generally, I think Leterrier is better at making action movies on a smaller scale. He doesn't get big epic material. He says that like comic heroes are like Greek Gods and immortals and all that but he doesn't really execute it.

His Clash movie was an insult when they had Perseus throwing away Bubu away, haha that's what we think of your stupid movie. Whatever.
