NOTE: I couldn't find any threads about this, but if it's a repeat, my apologies.

This thread obviously asks whether the 2011 Avengers movie could have an alternate title. As of now, the working title is "The Avengers", which I think they should and will keep.

However, this may be the only chance for an Avengers movie to be called "Avengers Assemble", since it will most likely be about how the Avengers first form. It sort of mirrors the Batman Begins title in that way. A similar title in this vein would be "The Avenger Initiative".

Another thing is that "The Avengers" is also the title of a popular old british TV show that was recently adapted to film in 1998 with Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes, and Sean Connery. "The Mighty Avengers" or simply "Avengers" would disambiguate the two.

I have a feeling that most people will shoot this down and say "Just stick with 'The Avengers'." I just want to give a voice to those who possibly think otherwise.

edit: whoops, that should be "Mighty".

The Avengers is the best one, in my opinion. That's what they are, no? hehe

The Avengers is already a title of another movie (I think)... they might want to drop the "The"

maybe

The Avengers

The Avenger Initiative.

Avengers: The Initiative

The Avengers

Simple and effective.

or how about the "Greatest Motha ****in Comic Book/Superhero movie ever made..."

That was 10 years ago and it was hardly a popular movie; its not like it'd be confused with Men In Black.

Im fairly sure that after a few years of hype that thered be little confusion between this film and the old tv series/movie.

However, I still think it'll be called Avengers, without the The.

"The Avenger Initiative" was the reference that Sam Jackson made in IM... So that seems to make sense.

They could call it "Margret Thatcher Takes A S*** On A Biscuit"----I'm gonna see it regardless.

How about The Avengers:Mortal.

Let's not go there, please. The JL film was doomed from the start. I still have some hope that the Avengers will be great.

How about Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

How about The Avengers:Mortal.

YES! Plus, since it's clearly a stupid idea to bring back RDJ and Ed Norton, they should recast Iron Man as a 6' 5" 20 year old nobody, and Bruce Banner should be a Mexican. Throw in a teeny bopper, a rapper, and a model with no acting experience and we're good to go.

Someone with the same amount of hate for JL: Mortal as me? I didnt think such a person existed...

I'm probably the biggest proponent of a Justice League movie there is, but that crap they tried to pull on us definitely wasn't it, so I guess you could say so.

Well, yeah. Justice League Mortal (crap) and Justice League of America (incredible, if done right) are two very different things.
