well on monday evening i bumped into a girl i knew in the 6th grade at my college. me and her danced at our "prom" and it was more of a relunctant dance on her part(she did'nt want to dance with me:( ) anyways i was trying really hard to avoid eye contact with her which failed because she noticed me. But we both decided to play it off like we did'nt know each other.

have you guys ever went out of your way to avoid someone?

I have and it's mostly people I went to high school with. I talk to a select few from my high school days and want to keep it that way. Especially when some are still in the high school mentality after 15 years of being out of school.

I hooked up with a girl about 2 weeks ago. It was nice. The next night we hooked up again, and I honestly wasn't feeling it. Then she began texting e NONSTOP. Talking about how she missed me, and couldn't wait until we smashed again. I responded, but kept breaking plans she wanted to make with fake excuses. Then she started calling me, and I never answered, and when she spoke to me online, I told her I lost my phone.

I avoided her like this for about a week or so, until finally, I ended it, and it was simple. I was online and she said, "Do you think this will work out?" I said, "Nope." She then said, "So you just wanna be friends then?" And I said, "Yup."

And that was that.

Yeah.

I've never really avoided people, because it's never really been necessary because they usually avoid me.

Dude, you just owned yourself. Nice job.

Better to own myself than to let another do it for me.

I'm just stating a fact, that's all.

i try to avoid everyone i don't know...and most people i do know...social phobia? slight agoraphobia? a little of both probably...

i always run into people from highschool at work though, and those are the people i try to avoid the most.

I generally try to avoid a lot of people I know. See, I have a speech problem...and have never been comfortable talking to people. Hell, when I was younger most people thought I wasn't american due to my speech problem. A few people in my senior year of high school thought I was british. However, I generally no longer care about my problem. Back to the topic. I still avoid people...unless if they are my friend or I think they're cool.

Yeah.

im not hiding from her. im avoiding her, theres a difference. even if i was hiding from her it would'nt because of that pity dance.

There is a guy at school who always invites himself into my dorm room. One day myself, my girlfriend, my roomate, and three other friends were concluding a viewing of the DVD of Shaun of the Dead when he knocks on the door. Before any of us who live in the building could say so Friend C opened the door and low and behold there he was. As he, lets call him Subject X, persisted to set within our room (As the smell of his body - aka Warm Cottage Cheese) began to permiate we decided it was time to leave. I walk outside and devise a plan with my roomate with the simple statment "Follow my lead..." As i walk in I ask if anyone was hungry. Instinctivly the rest of my friends pick up on my plan and all reply "YES! STARVING!" we quickly make plans to goto a local resturant and Subject X invites himself. We adapt our plan and tell him that the number of people going makes it impossible for everyone to fit in their cars. So he decided to drive with us in his own car. As we are driving we quickly pull ahead turn around in an exxon and go to the complete other side of town to eat, luckily Subject X didn't get to his car fast enough to follow us.

Hiding and avoiding are the same thing. See...

Hide 4.to conceal oneself; lie concealed: He hid in the closet.

Avoid To stay clear of; shun

Hmmm...guess not. Oh well.
