Eh. I think some categories like Costume Design and Makeup and Hairstyling are most likely right now.
^^It will. Get ready.![]()
Only because the Oscars are more concerned now with quotas and "diversity" than quality.

I can see it at least getting nominations for costume design and original score, but I don't think it'll get much Oscar-type recognition outside of that. I'd like to be proven wrong though for the latter statement.
On the other hand, this year there aren’t that many stand outs. Roma is greatly loved by critics, but no foreign language film has ever won best picture, especially in a year where Oscar is being criticized for being out of touch (a film that not many have seen on a subject that not that many care in black and white. And in Spanish to boot.)
A Star is Born is the heavy favorite now though it’s not that strong in the acting department for the female lead and it’s a directorial debut. Bohemian Rhasody is strong in the lead but not that much loved in the storytelling aspect. Beale Street is well liked but it hasn’t gathered much buzz yet. That opens a small crack for a dark horse that may not be a great cinematic achievement but has vast cultural impact that is pretty acclaimed by critics and popular in BO. I won’t be surprised if some voters will take that into consideration in a year like this to give it small fighting chance. It really depends on how many other awards it will get before Oscar for a push. If A Star is Born racks up many awards before Oscar, the race is pretty much over.
If this doesn’t get even a nom this is a true snub given how many noms it has gotten from other major awards.
She is the weakest link in the movie. She can buzz whatever she wants she has no chance.

LOS ANGELES (August 30, 2017) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today that Kevin Feige will be honored with the 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award recognizing the producer’s body of work in motion pictures. Feige will receive the award at the 30th Annual Producers Guild Awards on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
As President of Marvel Studios since 2007 and producer of each of its 20 genre-spanning films to date, Feige is widely credited with creating the unprecedented and ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. His forward-thinking approach to production, diverse casting and globally resonant storylines make him one of the most exciting and relevant filmmakers of our time.
Since the inception of Marvel Studios, Feige has continually brought together a diverse group of talent for each of his films, seeking out unique and unexpected voices to bring the studio’s stories to life, from writers and directors to actors and below-the-line professionals. This effort reached its apex with this year’s release of the critically acclaimed “Black Panther.” The film became a global cultural phemomeon, proving that showcasing diverse voices can lead to global success. The most successful domestic release of 2018, “Black Panther” earned more than $1.3B worldwide.
