I've had them all from fighting couples to loud, incredibly rude neighbors and they keep you up all night. Who are the worst neighbors you know and personal horror stories?

I've never had any big issues with neighbors, if anything I wod assume a few times over the years I was the bad neighbor. Now roommates on the other hand I e had a few crazy ones. Last place I stayed at before my current residence I lived with this couple and the girlfriend was a crazy alcoholic. She would burst into my room and demand I do chores and whatnot. Really inconsiderate jerk moves. She was a horrible person and even worse mother. They had a 2 year old and she wod get drunk all day and chain smoke cigs in the house. Just an awful human being

I once had a neighbor that went crazy and ate a dead squirrel that she found on the ground.

I've gone crazy once or twice myself and never ate any dead things thankfully

I've had some pretty atrocious roommates. My first roommate in college turned out to be a pedophile. He was arrested, kicked out of school and replaced by a new roommate, whom I shared a bedroom with, and he would stumble into the bedroom drunk/high and night, climb into bed and start loudly masterbating while I was trying to sleep. It got REALLY bad when he'd start whispering to me while doing it. Yeah...that didn't last long. Then HE was replaced by a drug-addicted transvestite who pretended to be a hermaphroditite in order justify the cross dressing (he admitted it to me one night). If he wasn't high, he was throwing a fit about not being high. Would steal my money to get high. Always smelled like pee, and would follow me around like a lost and stoned puppy. He'd even follow (re: stalk me) to job interviews.

Yeah, that first year of college sucked.

Had one tonight. The neigbours were fighting over something. Normally they're the good ones and we're the bad lot.

I've had neighbours who had knock down drag out fights with cops being called later. Fun times.

I had some neighbors who would have loud parties that would go really late at night, like 1am and later but they were during the work week. I'm not against people having fun but if I can hear their music from across the street to the point where I cant sleep then its a problem. My wife at the time called the cops a couple of times because it was so bad. One time she called because we could hear screaming, again in the middle of the night. They would also park in front of my house and sometimes partially block the driveway, which I would thank them by parking right on their bumper and nearly blocking them in. I admit it was very passive-aggressive and I could have handled it better but I'm fairly certain they didnt speak english so they probably wouldnt have understood me.

I had some neighbors that would throw their beer cans over into the overgrown spot beside our face. I was out one night, saw a can come flying over, and tossed it back. Haven't seen any since. I think one of my neighbors has a schizophrenic kid. While I was clearing some weeds from a ditch in front of our house, he came by shouting and screaming at nothing I could see, as he is wont to do. I said "hey." He stopped, looked at me, said "hi," and kept on walking in silence. After he had gotten down a little ways, he starts shouting at people that aren't there.

Living in a common house where people keep turning the temp down to 68. Room temperature is 70 godammit! I live in the basement - it's cold down here

My old neighbours used to have huge parties that always ended up with the cops coming. He would routinely steal sound systems/GPSs out of people's cars and hide the goods in his house, so the police came by even when there wasn't a party going on.

Eventually, the guy took a rifle bullet to the face because he pissed off his drunk, violent friend.

My sister had some stoners living next door at her apartment. They would get high and the apartments had shared ventilation, so the smoke would seep into hers. She moved out because she was pregnant at the time.

I have had lots of strange neighbours.

* A lapdancer moved into the flat downstairs and brought 'clients' back to entertain. Lets just say she was a noisy cow. When she was evicted the landlord found lots of blood in her bath. No idea what she was up to!
* Another neighbour killed himself and no one found him for a week in the summer. The smell was awful, poor guy.
* The previous tenants next door had constant fights and nearly killed each other one night. The police were called and arrested the guy.

Pleased to report that my current neighbours are nice and quiet!

My elderly parents have the same problem. You can smell the smoke in their living room, but they are to scared to complain.

I had some neighbours in a lower apartment that made me get rid of my cats. they had cats they hid from the landlord and they had a very very strong cat piss smell from the basement. Since the landlord knew about my cats and not theirs despite us telling that they had them I had to get rid of mine. I wanted to beat the **** out of them but they moved out a few weeks later.

I had a neighbor who everyone is fairly certain abducted and murdered his wife.

That's pretty crappy.

I have 2 different stories

story one:

When I was living in Daytona Florida my dad had this almost restored early 70s MGB roadster (one with the nice chrome bumpers not the ugly plastic ones). He sadly did not have the $$$ to finish it, all the mechanical work was done the car started and ran great and some body work was done (fixed some dings and rust areas etc), it just needed priming and paint. He had it parked out on the front lawn to the right of the driveway in our big front yard. one of the kids (or a friend of the kids, to this day we still do not know) hit a baseball over our house and it struck the car's front window putting a series of cracks in the left side of it. now on these cars the glass is not only very $$$ to replace, the labor to remove the frame that holds said glass is just as $$$. He ended up selling it for a lot less than he wanted and was mad at the kid/kids that did it for a long time.

story two:

While I was on vacation in L.A. in 2012 my dad called me from our house in NY telling me my car got hit. I told him how is that possible it was parked in the driveway in front of the garage. well he let his sister who was visiting borrow it and she parked it on the street and one of the kids next door struck it with his bike. but we did not know if it was for sure one of them or like the other story a friend of the kids. I talked to the dad and he said he has NO idea who it my car and said if he did he would help by paying for the repair but since he did not he would not.

Those cars...what a bummer. What a drag.

Anyway, I have nightmare neighbor stories, too. Please excuse the length of this post, but I couldn't help myself.

In my apartment building, I used to have a neighbor on the floor below who played EXTREEEEEEMELY loud music all the time. Nothing that anyone said or did would stop her. If I went to her door to ask her tone it down, she would scream and yell at me forever, not letting me get a word in edgewise. She would make an issue out of the fact that she paid rent. Now, not only was this person extremely loud and extremely nasty, she was also extremely stupid. One day I slid a note under her door, asking her to turn down the music. Then I went out. I came back an hour later, and I saw that the note I'd left her was now sitting on the doormat outside the door. I realized what had happened was that she had found the note, read it, gotten angry, and slid it back out under the door. Where did she think that note was going to go? Into the Twilight Zone? Back into my hand? I wonder what ran through her head the next time she opened the door and found the note sitting there. What an idiot.

Eventually she moved out, but a few months later, people moved into the apartment next door to me with exactly the same problems--extreme volume, extreme nastiness, and extreme stupidity. I tried leaving notes under their door, asking them to turn down the music. It didn't work. Later I heard from the superintendent of the building that these neighbors had actually complained to him. The neighbors had gotten angry about the notes I'd left asking them to turn down the music, and they had gone to the super to complain about the notes. What kind of person does that? Eventually I tried going to the door to ask these people to turn it down, and I got screamed at just like with the other neighbor, including the part about paying rent. And then she accused me of harassment.

OK, so let me get this straight. You blast music, you won't let me sleep, you make it impossible for me to do my job (I work from home) and if I ask you to show some consideration, that's harassment? I see.

I see EXTREEEEEEEEME stupidity. EXTREEEEEEEEEME selfishness. And an EXTREEEEEEEEMELY screwed up sense of entitlement.

I felt like I was the only one who had this problem. When I was living in these poorly constructed apartments the upstairs neighbors smoked pot and it seeped into my apartment from a vent in the ceiling of the bathroom. I used to keep my bird in there because it was the warmest, least drafty place in my apartment. He eventually went crazy on me. When I got him he was the sweetest bird, but after those people moved in and the smoke came into my apartment he turned into a nasty, aggressive, nipping bird. He eventually died I suppose from head trauma because he would just go nuts and fly around the cage shrieking. I can tell you ever since I was exposed to that smoke I haven't been the same person as well.

I've had a few. Once, behind me there were some rednecks that liked to work on their monster trucks, and they would be gunning them, sending the horrible smog right into my house. I was so glad when they moved out.

Then I had a neighbor next door that had some dogs that kept getting out and into my yard. When one of them finally jumped the fence, attacked my dog and then killed one of my cats, that's when I called the cops. Cops came, arrested them for manufacturing drugs and raising fighting dogs, and that was the end for them living next door to me.

Then down the street, some Islanders moved in and they thought it was alright for them to be blasting their stereos at all hours of the day and night. The other neighbors and I got together and hired a lawyer and took them court for disturbing the peace and interfering with our quality of life, and we won. They moved out shortly after that.
