Bad Times at the El Royale - Drew Goddard Writes and Directs

This looks so good. I'm not sure how it will do at the box office but I'm excited.

Yeah bo prospects ain't optimistic with Venom and especially A Star is Born released just week before and First Man, which is something one has to see in cinema, premiering the same week

God I really hope this doesn't flop

What would be a flop? I hope it doesn't flop either because Hollywood needs to continue making these midbudget, original ideas. If it flops, we'll just get more reboots and adaptations of stories already told.

Not sure what the budget is but I can't see this making more than $60M-$75M at best during its run.

All I've seen so far have been positives with a few nitpicks here and there.

Den of the Geek calls Hemsworth's performance "dangerously sexy" so I may die there

but 140 minutes? most universal complaint is 'too long'

If this is basically a Tarantino riff with overlapping stories then I think 2Hrs 20Min. is about right. Pulp Fiction alone is 2Hrs 58Min.

Obviously the length itself is not a problem, it's only a problem when the director doesn't have enough to put in all those minutes which seems to be the case here.

RT hasn't added the reviews yet.
From what i'm reading it seems to have a decent critic reception. I checked out 15 of the reviews and 11 are positive, 2 are mixed and 2 negative. So i would say this will rate around 70/75% on RT.

Really interested in this film, so I'm glad that reviews aren't too bad so far. Didn't realize it was going to be so long though, I would've thought this would only just approaching 2 hours.

It's sort of like drew goddard doing a Quentin Tarantino film.

People only really like films longer than2 hours these days if they involve a lot of action. No more of that Godfather and Gone with the Wind ****.

I think it's a decent one-off viewing. That being said, I have no desire to see it again.

How would you compare it to Cabin in the Woods? Are there twists like in this one? Is Hemsworth in it a lot? :D

Honestly, the biggest twists are all revealed in the first half and you can figure the rest out. It's not that twisty. Hemsworth is in it a fair amount.

I expected this movie to have mixed reviews. Still doesn't dull my hype. I'm ready for dangerously sexy Hemsworth.
