Is it trolling? I'm not sure, but it does amount to a few individuals effectively smothering any interesting discussion in a blanket of boring, repetitive, illogical whining.

Sounds like the Hobbit thread. :o

It's why I don't go there anymore.

If He or she wanted their name to be identified as a girls name, then he or she should have spelled it a Niki

Thank the ****ing lord that Nicky was banned. Her posts were painfully stupid.

Not necessarily....my name is spelled with a y, I know other girls with the name Kelly spell it that way, just as I do. But, many would say that that is how a boy spells the name Kelly, and a girl should spell it Kelli, Kellie, etc...I don't know that there is an official way to spell any name....lol

Some forums have the option of the male/female signs, but here its just a guess. :yay:

And yes, anyone that gets upset because someone made a mistake as to their gender, etc...pretty much needs to let people know from the start.

So can the admins add the boy/girl feature if they wanted? i know some forums that have the option of displaying the symbols or not.

The y/i thing happens alot but I've never seen a girl use Nicky. I would have assumed it was a duder had I encountered this person.

I know a large Chinese dude with a beard who calls himself Nicky. That's who I associate with the name.

We aren't into the technical part of the website like that....I can bring that up though. :yay:

I get the "you must be a dude" thing every once in awhile on the hype with new members, and a few old members. :cwink:

I never knew until today that Kelly can also be a guy's name.

Some names are uni sex like Sami. Heaven knows how many different ways you can spell that name for a boy or girl.

I thought you, CosmicPinchy and a few others were guys when I first met you (don't kill me!).

Oh, please....there were many, and there are still a few out there. lol

That kind of thing has never bothered me, and I normally don't correct people.....usually one of the other mods, or another member corrects it. :)

I never thought about naming myself something gender specific when I signed up in 2003. I couldn't just put "girl" at the end of this name and have it make sense.

Thanks.

it wouldn't take up space and users would have the option of displaying it or not.

I have to correct myself now.....one of my ex-students named her daughter Kelly and spells it like me. So, I actually know 2.

Kelly Jones is a dude :wow:
I love how this thread took a turn to discuss the difference between the spelling the male version and the female version of names :p

:funny: It's not surprising. Statistically, there's a good chance you would be right.

9 times out of 10, I see comic book movies with guys because my female friends are not interested.
