Why do they say expired if they still count?

Anyway Im only 2 infractions in. One for an inappropriate video (I Love Tha P**** by Alpa Chino from the Tropic Thunder OST) and another for "Flaming" when I was joking with someone and it got misconstrued. Both are from 09.

It's not that hard to not get infractions.

Because if you get a certain amount within a short amount of time WHILE they are still active, you will get an automatic probationary ban. If we kept them active, MANY would be on probationary ban the majority of their time here. I know for some that would be a positive...lol, but that is just not how it works.

The expired on them does not mean they no longer count, it just means they are no longer active in that time period where 3 could get you a probationary ban.

Just saying, this thread always gets pruned for OT discussion. Why so hard to keep in on topic? There's a lounge or any other number of threads for a reason.

The thing that'll likely keep me from getting infractions is the ignore list. If I feel like a poster is going to continually piss me off or feel like a poster is trolling in a certain section just to get a rise out of the frequent posters there, I'll ban them to prevent myself from responding with something against forum rules. As of now, I've put 46 people on my ignore list, many who seem to be lurking trolls with low post counts or have high post counts in one section that are really positive and then go negative when they enter sections I frequent.

Same. Particularly useful if they post frequently in sections you post in.

I love the ignore feature. Best thing ever.

The only downside is you can still see the post and it says so and so is on your ignore list. I wish you could just block them out completely.

Agreed. You get the urge to click and view their post. If they just didn't appear there'd be no urge. I'd wish the ignore feature would hide their posts when other members quote them too
