I didn't interact with D.P. but I have to ask why he wasn't just put on probation? We all have bad days. Sarcastically asking to be banned should not get a member permanently banned. Especially a member who has made thousands of posts. A member with a post count like that isn't just some troll or a newb. They've got history with members and have made an investment in this community. Give them a chance to change their tune. A probation might have been more in order. After 30 days away he might have decided he didn't want to be banned, and corrected whatever behavior was causing the problems.

I'm talking about in cases if someone had a bad day, or if someone meant it truly in jest, and wasn't a troll otherwise.

I've had a lot of people say "ban me" over the years......at first, I told them to just stop posting here and move on and left them alone.....then there was a couple who asked me to ban them, I didn't, and they then posted porn and said ban me now.....so now....someone says ban me....I ban them.

Fair enough, but will you allow DP to rejoin, assuming he wants to? I suspect he might have acted rashly, but he was really a fairly decent poster, by current standards.

I wonder if mods are allowed to post under different names? Do they ban themselves if they get out of line? lol. I've seen some mods names I never saw before, it's like they don't even post. I'd assume they must be posting as someone else

Mods ban or delete secondary accounts, and they have a way to recognize people posting under different accounts

Intellectually I see the issue with D.P saying that about the skepticism thread but my more visceral, knee jerk reaction is to not disagree with his statement. That's probably just the fed up, animalistic side speaking though. I try to keep that side in check.

I think it would be funny if another Aunt Petunia AKA Franklin Richards type of scandal happened around here. Man even after all these years, that thing still has me ROFL.

Like it would be HILARIOUS to be if say Comic Book Chick, MR. C Lee himself another Mod ended up being Franklin Richards or another Infamous troll. No offense to those mods by the way, but it would be a shocker and super funny.

I believe it was a week or so ago and he was banned because his infraction count reached its peak.

Its not unreasonable to think that the mods may have other accounts here on the hype. I mean I doubt they joined the Hype and instantly became mods unless they know the creator of SHH or something.

Right before Thor 2 was released, he was literally telling a few people, who have seen it and weren't overly fond of it, that they were biased and wrong.

I think his point was that Rock was telling people their opinion of Thor 2 was wrong, even though they had seen it, and he hadn't. At least, that's what I assume he meant when he said this happened before the film's release. As in, people were privy to advanced screenings, and didn't like it, and Rock was like "nuh uh, you're wrong", even though he hadn't even seen it yet, presumably.
