"I'm a detective. A PI. A private dick. And let's face it - when you've got the word dick on a business card and you're not some perverted sex act for hire, you've officially crossed the line into 'I am one of the coolest bastards alive' zone."

Gotham City, a noir netherworld of lies, betrayal, secrets and (of course) murder. While the Caped Crusader gets the praise for cleaning up the streets, he'd be nothing without Jason Bard, a fearless private investigator dedicated to solving the mysteries even Batman can't crack.

Jason used to be a police officer for the GCPD and had a fiance, but it all came crumbling down when he was injured on the force and his fiance left him. Now Batman offers Jason an opportunity - take the cases Batman can't handle, and he'll pay Jason more money than he ever thought attainable.

Bard Investigations? Never heard of it.

That's because it's not technically a comic series... anymore. It's essentially an adaptation of The Crime Files of Jason Bard, which appeared in Detective Comics occasionally. Some may remember the character of Jason Bard... he appeared in Face the Face and Birds of Prey recently. Bard Investigations is essentially a stereotypical noir series, with the usual noir tropes (femme fatales, police corruption, etc.), only the characters are from the Batman universe.

What is a virtual series?

In this definition, it is a series of unproduced scripts in television format that combine to form a seasonal arc. There's no affiliation or endorsement by DC Comics whatsoever, and all characters are used without permission.

What storylines are being used/adapted?

None are being directly adapted. Every storyline is inspired by events that take place in DC Comics, but are manipulated to suit the services of the show. Half A Life... War Games... Bruce Wayne: Murderer... expect to see them show up, in some shape or form.

How many episodes have aired?

Season One is currently airing. Six episodes have currently aired, with the final five of the season set to begin airing this August.

Jason is forced to dig into his own past, when the disappearance of Monica's six-year-old daughter bears striking resemblances to similar cases over the last twenty years.
