Gotham Central the series

This would make a great show. I would start it off with Gordon as a Lt. who gets his hands dirty while dealing with underhanded bacstabbing politics. More of a John Mclain than a pencil pusher. I would start with Gordon being partnered with Essen with a build up to an affair showing that even great men make mistakes. Det Nicholas Gage is the hot shot detective who is the golden boy and by the book...the shining knight if you will...gets on Gordons nerves a little. Gordon puts together the Major Crimes Unit headed up by himself and Essen with Maggie Sawyer, Gage, Rebecca Mulcahey, Harvey Bullock, Jason Bard, and Renee Montoya. Crispus Allen and James Corrigan are IA who are investigating Bullock who in reality is Corrigans scapegoat for his illegal activities. Bard is the smart mouth renegade who is becoming tired of the politics and starts thinking maybe there is more of a future in the private sector as a p.i. with Slam Bradley. Bard is in a relationship with Nora Fields the coroner.Slam is a p.i. who is aging and is somewhat in a tug of war with Gordon over Bard who both see something special in. All the while dealing with crooked cops that lead all the way to Comm. Loeb. With the help od D.A. Harvey Dent they will clean up Gotham.......but who is this shadowy figure Batman. Batman would never be seen full blown jus more of a off screen prescence and a shadow here and there.

I'd be ok with a Gotham Central show....but if it's going to take place in Gotham, i'd really like to see the cops take on how they deal with the "super criminals" in the city...like The Joker, Mr. Freeze, etc... Less in-fighting and more focused on how they see the Batman as a vigilante and menace and dealing with Batman's villains from their angles.
