If Nightwing is in this, I'd love to see your costume design for him. I'm a huge Dick Grayson/Nightwing fan.

So sorry!! I forgot to respond to this.

Here ya go... Some images of our young student actor who will be playing NIGHTWING

If you're like me, you're tired of our young people having THE ARTS being cut... more and more each year... from their school curriculum! Each year, Performing Arts students and their teachers have less and less resources to put on really good quality shows!

That bothered me SO MUCH that I decided to do something about it!! I've written my OWN stage play (entitled "Fathers Of The Dark Knight"), and it will feature a cast made up primarily of middle school, high school, and college-age drama students!!

I'm giving these kids an ambitious, excellent show to call their OWN!! I want them to have the BEST sets, the BEST costumes, the BEST props!! I do this because they deserve the best. I do this because they deserve to have a top quality way to showcase their talent!

I do this because I love them.

But I really need help.

Please visit our official website at FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT.com . Take your time visiting the site and get a good up-close look at all the props, costumes stage designs and top-notch production value that has been fabricated FROM SCRATCH for this student production.

Then, if you are so inclined, please come back to our GO FUND ME campaign and make a donation to our enterprise.Your dollars will help me make these students shine on stage like never before. You can help me give them an experience that they will carry with them for a lifetime! What could have more artistic value than that?

These are beautiful designs. Those of us who love the classic designs of these characters are lucky to have such a talented and industrious ally. What happened to the action figure series you were making, by the way.

Oh... they're around. LOL! :woot: That custom action figure project kinda got pus aside a bit as I began work on this student stage play.. However, I WILL say that now that Mattel has released my favorite Batmobile (1966 Futura Bat) in the scale for 6" figures, this project is about to be revived BIG-TIME!

Batgirl is phenomenal !

Yes she is. And I've gotta tell you, she is the loveliest young lady you could ever hope to work with. She is bright, polite, hardworking, fast-learner... and very talented to boot. We are VERY lucky to have her in the production.:woot:

Opening Night was a STUNNING performance from my entire cast and crew... it was more exciting than I could ever have dreamed!!

Nearly three years of planning, dedication, and hard work really paid off!

FATHERS OF THE DARK KNIGHT
was brilliant!

Two more performances to go!

I still get goosebumps with the opening overture of Act II (after intermission is over):

The audience re-enters the auditorium to a GRAND orchestral score blaring from the sound system. At just the right cymbal crash, the BAT-SYMBOL projection appears on the closed stage curtain and majestically begins to sweep the side walls and ceiling of the space. Moments later, the curtain parts to reveal Police Commissioner Gordon standing on the rooftop of Police Headquarters, calling the Dynamic Duo with his enormous Bat-Signal searchlight...!! Whew!!! You can actually hear the audience gasp with excitement each time that sequence plays out.

Astonishing! You have found a way of living the dream, by bringing your Batman vision to life, and you've done such a fine job, too! Maximum respect from one Batfan to another.

I'm so thrilled this worked out so well for you. What next for the production? It seems a shame just to mothball all of those props and costumes. Is there some kind of youth talent scheme that could take it on tour?

Perhaps WB might sponsor you. :hmm

My co-producer (and wife) and i are looking into those possibilities now. One thing we know for sure is that this will NOT be the final run of this show!

No Two-Face?

(Just kidding

)

Really impressive!

LOL! LOL! Thanks!

Actually, truth be told, I originally had Two-Face's appearance in this play all planned out. He was actually going to be the person who would come out and greet the audience at the start of the show. I was going to have him threaten the audience at gunpoint by telling them that the show would only proceed if a flip of his coin landed clean face up. He would then flip his coin (which naturally would land clean face up), and he would begrudgingly allow the show to proceed. He would offer some last minute admonishments about recording and flash photography being prohibited, and about being respectful to each other by minimizing conversations, and texting during the show.

We even had his make up appliance produced and his coin prop purchased.

But the character of Two-Face was cut from the play about 6 months ago due to budgetary constraints.

This is a behind the scenes still of me performing a makeup test on the student actor who was going to play Two-Face...

That's incredible. I would never have thought of using a facemask. I suppose you can get away with it on stage.

Actually that's not a face mask. It's a foam latex appliance that was going to be glued to his face.

This is a fast, 2-minute "Work Sample" clip that I put together from one of our 3 summer preview performances. It is two clips edited together:

The first clip shows the start of ACT II, where Commissioner Gordon flashes the Bat-Signal to call The Batman and Robin about trouble with The Riddler.

The second clip shows a mysterious new ally (Batgirl) rescuing the Dynamic Duo from the Riddler's electric chair death trap before Gordon and his SWAT team show up.

Don't forget to turn your computer volume up and click on the "HD" option when you view it so that it looks best.
