I love it when people go off
Your avy makes me want a cigarette and I'm trying to quit.
Though it also makes me want to light money on fire...

So are you agreeing or disagreeing with me?I´m sick and tired of this deceitful "thought police" argument. You know, what really annoys me is not people not liking the suit or the Batpod or whatever, it´s I see the same people from before basically recycling all the same arguments they used against Begins that were already proven wrong. A lot of people insisted Batman was going to look "robotic" in Begins. He didn´t, and yet they bring that argument back for the umpteenth time. People said the Tumbler was going to suck at chase scenes cuz it wasn´t a sleek sports car with fins, it didn´t and now they bring back all that crap again with the Batpod, it´s like listening to broken records.
BB is the best comic book movie ever made - and the Dark Knight will sit either just below it or on the same level.

GotchaI´m saying that the critics can be just as or more intolerant to difference of opinion as some of the "Nolan sheep". Just don´t pretend it´s only one way and I´m fine with you.
I hope Eckhart doesn't totally ruin it.
What's wrong with Eckhart?I hope Eckhart doesn't totally ruin it.
I've not really seen him in anything. Why couldn't they darken his hair a little? Takes 5 minutes.
What's wrong with Eckhart?
Fair enough. I dunno, I liked his casting from the get go. I definitely think he has the chops to pull it off - he showed a glimpse of the duality that is needed in his role in The Black Dahlia.I have no problem with him being Blond
Nothing specifically...he just gives me the "that's the best they could do?" feeling. I wanted Leonardo DiCaprio. Harvey Dent is an extraordiarily complex role. I don't see Eckhart doing much with it.

YarI myself wouldn´t have DiCaprio as my first choice. Nothing against him, but Dent has a much more masculine and mature look. DiCaprio still has much of the boyish look.

Oh, do I....Leo is great, I have to admit, and getting better. Matt Damon was offered the role originally, remember?

Agreed, but Leo's acting chops are just amazing, he can pull off anything. I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit of the looks.I myself wouldn´t have DiCaprio as my first choice. Nothing against him, but Dent has a much more masculine and mature look. DiCaprio still has much of the boyish look.
DiCaprio looks
A) like Sale Dent (I loves me Sale Dent)
B) like a driven guy (Dent = Driven)
C) kinda like he's out of his element in Batman (Especially if Dent is transferred to Gotham)
and he's a great actor...able to pull off the nuances that make Dent such a great character.
Funny, maybe it´s me, but I myself never got a "DiCaprio vibe" from Sale´s Dent.
I find Eckhart a terrific actor. I felt that in Thank You For Smoking he showed all the chops.
I didn't really. In Thank You For Smoking, he played a very external character...to me, Dent is very much INternal. Subtle even. In TYFS, I though he played his normal over-the-top bad guy, but the twist was he wasn't actually bad.Funny, maybe it´s me, but I myself never got a "DiCaprio vibe" from Sale´s Dent.

Yeah, I really can't take Leo as an authority figure. He'll always be a kid to me. And I think Eckhart is really something, I loved Thank You For Smoking a hell of a lot.

Dent isn't just an "Earnest Politician," though.I don't think he was even bad. The entire movie was a morally gray area about the wheeling and dealing that occurs in the circus of the media and politics. He was just exceptionally good at a job in a world that demanded, if not enforced, moral ambiguity, and he wound up questioning this ambiguity.
Yeah, he was pretty "external." He played a likable, extroverted person whose viewpoints, no matter how twisted, you wound up appreciating, even on a despicable level. I don't know how they'll play Dent - there's been a whole lot of alterations to his character in the comics and all the other non-canon.
I know he can play an earnest politician, though. I know that for sure.
