Batman: Arkham Asylum (Video Game)

I just got a game informer about the new Batman video game. I will post more details on it later just creating the thread though.

I, personally, am very disturbed by the switch from an open sandbox game to a "dark scary mansion" game. The graphics are nice, but What I imagine as the ultimate Batman game would be one where you are Batman protecting all of Gotham, using the batmobile and the batplane/batwing, etc. This "Resident Evil 4" meets "Metal Gear Batman" design fails to impress me. All the hype fails to impress me as well, since Ultimate Spider-Man was worshipped since Bendis wrote that, and everyone knows that game came out rather lackluster.

Batman is the ultimate sandbox superhero (because he swings, flies, drives, fights, etc) and DESERVES a great game. I hope Eidos is reading this. I want Grand Theft Auto with a Batman flair. With situational team-ups with Robin, Nightwing, Huntress, etc.
I want to throw Bane into buildings. I want Joker attacking Gotham Square with Smilex. I want Riddler posting bombs with clues on various landmarks in Gotham.

In short, I WANT BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually i really like the idea that it takes place in Arkham
makes sense cause there are a lot of what if factors if you make it free roaming. Batman isn't about huge grand battles that take place over a cityscape he is about up close and personal. I think in that respect they got it right.

Played the Spider-Man 3 game? Nothing in it was citywide, but you use the city to realistically move from scene to scene, stopping street crime on the way. Once Spider-Man got to the next mission, it would be inside a building or in the sewers. I think Batman could really do well with that. Especially since you could choose to use the Batmobile or Batplane, or grapple gun the whole way.

Arkham asylum would only be one of many explorable places. You could chase Croc in the sewers. Penguin would have his nightclub. Oracle in the clocktower. It would be awesome. It would sell like CRAZY.

And there would be a great sequel that would be easy to code following the first game....... No Man's Land.

thats 4 videogames with batman in them, it's alot better then then our 1 batman videogame from 2005.
