Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 2

Why can't Mr White have a vendetta against Batman? Use your imagination.

With all the speculation and hype. It would be very disappointing if Arkham Knight is just some random dude we never heard before. If it is a new character, then why keep it a secret?

If it is an existing character, it's probably going to be Tommy Elliot.

If in some sick reality, it turns out that the Arkham Knight is the Joker, I think I will have unlimited facepalms.

That would just be weak ass storytelling, and I can't imagine Rocksteady is gonna do that. I think they know what a bad taste that would leave in fan's mouths.

Why is everyone keep saying Arkham Knight could be Joker? They have said hes dead already.

From the storytelling perspective, there is no good that can emerge from having Joker be the Arkham Knight.

Why would they reveal the man inside the Knight suit and reveal the whole story just cause he's a new character?

He may be new but not so random depending on his motives and story,Play out the story and give him a chance before just going"meh he's just some new guy",maybe he's badass NAND being new wouldn't mean ****

Indeed.

Same with Jason Todd, Andrea Beaumont, or any character that hasn't been properly established in the games. Little easter eggs easily missed by most players do not count.

Then I hope this new character has no history with Batman

Now I remembered Wrath

Because maybe they want to tell you a story you haven't heard before. Honestly, can you not envision a scenario whereby a new character is being kept 'secret' purely because it's a new character? There's really no advantage to dragging out a pre-existing character for Rocksteady because ultimately it means they don't leave their mark on the mythology. Really, they've more or less used up the biggest names of the Batman mythology over the two games already (more if you include Origins) and with the death of The Joker it really changes the status quo dramatically, so what better time than to stamp your mark on the Batman mythos than with a new character?

It's best to look at this like what was done with the mask of the phantazium and the mystery of the bat woman animated movies deal here. It took a bit before they reveled who was be hind the masks for those animated movies. and they were new characters behind those mask that Bruce only met recently and it was made specifically for those particular stories of those movies . the same can be done in video game form.

And that's exactly the point people are missing. New characters are introduced when the story calls for it. Dragging out old characters and giving them a coat of paint is nothing but glorified fan service IMO.

I'm expecting the Arkham Knight to be entirely Bruce's imagination, especially with Scarecrow as the main villain. It may like that Teen Titans episode where some exposure to a gas causes Robin to see/hear/feel Deathstroke.

The fact that everyone now expects this makes me think it's too obvious. If it's not this, I want it to have all just been apophenia and the Arkham Knight is just some guy, he's driven over the edge like Bruce, but he's still just some guy.

I would love it if Wrath, Prometheus, or Owlman (or all) were in the game. I could see Arkham Knight being Wrath or Hush, but new character is probable. If all four were in the game, it'd be the ultimate "Batman vs antiBatman" storyline, although I could see why people would disagree with me.

It is definitely not the Joker. I've been okay with joker in all the other games, understanding other peoples' concerns but not beat up about it myself. If Joker is Arkham Knight, I would be dumbfounded, and not in a good way.

If Arkham Knight is a figment of Batman's imagination, I would be pissed as well. Hallucination sequences are a definite must, but I don't want Batman's big baddie in this game to not even exist. It would hardly be "leaving a mark" on the mythos if that were true.

I hope Azrael returns in a big way as well. Maybe he can mysteriously appear when fighting BatCop or BatBane. Or a war between Order of St. Dumas and the League of Assassins. Or a three way war with the Court of Owls thrown in! That'd probably be too much for this game though.

I would promptly walk away in anger. No Joker, please. Maybe in a fear dream, put on by Scarecrow? Sure. But Joker being alive and well, but also the Arkham Knight?

Naaaah.

If Arkham Knight is a hallucination, I'm going to demand a refund.

What if the AK is just an actor hired by the Joker, who is alive and well? :o

I'm keeping my expectations low on the Arkham Knight. I don't think it will be a Joker clone, but I also don't think it will be someone 110% new.

It would be great if rocksteady kept trolling people by having the joker be behind everything again?

So far, the Arkham Knight comes off as another attempt at giving Batman a Moriarty. That is, a dark mirror who is both a physical and mental equal to him. DC's been trying it for decades now. They tried it with Bane, Hush, Prometheus, Deathstroke, Owlman in the New 52, etc.
