There was a lot of stuff I didn't bother with upgrading until completion because I didn't see the need.

On another note, on my latest finish this weekend, I noticed music credits to Danny Elfman and Neal Hefti. I'm guessing that's related to the Batmobile racing DLC that's to come.

Of course, Hefti did the 1966 series theme (that could be a really fun setup if it's completely premised on the show, though still not all that enamored with the racing aspect). If you don't know what Elfman is responsible for, please inform so I can promptly end the charade of your account and ban you.

Yeah...if you don't know Elfman, you've lost any right to call yourself even a casual Bat-fan.

It'd be great if the song just plays everytime we're in the Burtonmobile. Just have it be the theme song of that Batmobile, anywhere and everywhere, all the time. I can never get tired of that song, or that soundtrack.

About the final ending...

[BLACKOUT]Honestly, Rocksteady crafted the story in a way that it's really open ended. They had Azrael in the mix, so that's a possible one. And the passage of time, having seen that Gordon is now Mayor (something I really liked, too). They did it in a manner where it could be anyone, really. I think the core idea is really similar to The Dark Knight Rises and even Batman Beyond, where the legend of Batman will always exist. Even if Bruce Wayne is dead, or even just the facade that is Bruce Wayne since we know Bruce didn't kill himself or Alfred at the end.

I really think that ending solidifies what Rocksteady has been saying about this being the end for them, too. No idea where they could go from there. [/BLACKOUT]

I don't really think about anything as the definitive Batman, really. I have my favorites, for different reasons. I mean, if I had to choose it'd be Bale (of course, with my username). I've always held Conroy in a different category, too. I mean, aside from being Kevin ****ing Conroy...I think it's hard for me to hold him and the actors who have to physically portray the character to the exact same standard, because it's just different. You can have a great actor onscreen do an embarrassingly awful voicework performance in a game on in animation. They require such different skill sets, that I can't say Conroy is better than Keaton or Bale, for example. Just seems unfair to everyone involved.

I have a friend who read somewhere that someone found coding for Ra's Al Ghul in the game (dunno how he was able to do that), and there was code for Nightwing and Robin outside the main game as well, so is there potential for a
Battle of the Cowl DLC, given the complete ending?

Also, I don't know how I feel about the ending theory that
Bruce is now fully Batman without his Bruce persona holding him back. But wasn't it established in the comics and other mediums that he needs his Bruce identity to keep him balanced, with a semblance of humanity in him? Otherwise he'll be just like the Batman of Zurr-En-Arrh from RIP, which is essentially Batman without the Bruce identity. Also, it doesn't make much sense that he'll cut contact with all his allies while still active as Batman, as he pretty much said goodbyes to everyone throughout the game and said multiple times that this will be the last time they'll see him.

I like Elfman's theme, but I prefer Shirley Walker's Batman theme. You can hear it a lot throughout the series, and particularly in the opening of Batman: Mask of the Phantastm where it's slowed down and made rather operatic.

Bought TKJ book along with Mad Love few months ago I can't wait to get animated film of TKJ on bluray, just get Conroy as Batman ASAP.

I got the season pass downloaded Batgirl DLC plus New 52 skins pack. I love Babs as Batgirl I can't wait to play

That is interesting about Elfman. I was not a big fan of the old batman movies or of the soundtracks. I find zimmers stuff to be much much better but I did like Elfman's theme a lot for spider man. I forget what else he has done besides the spider man and batman stuff.

Glad that Hamill is going to finally get to do a full length production of The Killing Joke. I have no doubt Conroy will reprise his role as Batman making this film even better.

Mark Hamill to Voice The Joker for BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Animated Film

We got a small sample in Arkham Knight Flashback, which was delightful.

Not a surprise and I have never really read comics just now what I know about batman from the movies, cartoons and games but from what we saw in the arkham knight flashbacks I am interested in this now.

He's scored all but I believe two of Tim Burton's movies.

Oh ok so I have a question for everyone. If rocksteady where to do remasters for both AA and AC how much would they have to cost for you to buy them? I don't think I would buy them in less they where like $20. I really love them but I think it is kind of silly to buy games or movies you already have just because they will look better on a upgrade like going from say dvd to bluray in less they add some special features or something.

I wouldn't be interested in remasters, to be honest. The original games are fine with me. They'd have to have something extra included for me to consider a purchase.

Like what? A behind the making of the game or something?

Does any one remember when did we first here that batgirl was going to be DLC for july and when did we get the date? If I remember we got the news about batgirl but didn't know what day in july and then got that news like a week later. I am just trying to think when may we get more news about augest DLC? I think we got the first news a little over a week ago so I am going to guess that we get the date for it some time this week.

Given the themes regarding Batman's allies and how he interacts/fails/saves them as a pseudo father figure, I think the ending would have worked better if it was made clear that someone like Dick Grayson or Tim Drake or even Jason Todd was acting as Batman in the final scene. The game was in part about the idea of Batman's successor with the reality that Bruce's time was coming to an end. That's the whole point behind the Azrael mission, the aforementioned sidekicks in play, and even the plot line with the Joker infected people. With that Joker had a myriad of successors that culminated with Batman himself until he ultimately purges that fear/guilt/craziness at the end. So you're left with a purified Bruce stripped of his legend bowing out to let someone else step in. Maybe that's what the last image is suggesting but it's just too opaque.

its all open interpretation, if you don't want bruce wayne as bats then fine, maybe its a former robin, or azrael or whoever. I personally think the myth/legend reborn is the best and most logical concept.

Well that's the ending no matter who is in the cowl there. I just don't think I prefer it if it's Bruce.

Finally finished the main story last night. I had everything done except riddler and have been away on vacation for the past two weeks. But sat down last night finished all 243 riddles and did the full ending. Really loved it, loved this game a great end to the series. Excited now to finally jump into the Batgirl DLC :woot:

I've finished everything except the AR Challenges and Riddler trophies. If I hit the Knightfall Protocal, does my progress on Riddler go away and I'll have to do that in New Game +, I'm thinking it would.

The Riddler trophy stuff carries over between both. I started NG+ with trophies still outstanding in the main game and it updated in NG+ after I went back and finished up. AR Challenge stuff seems to update between the two as well.

Good job there by Rocksteady. Make me go all the way through Nigma's crap again.

I don't know if there should be a remaster. Asylum isn't even that old, and honestly, I don't know what they could add to make it worthwhile.

To be honest, I don't think there's really anything left for the Arkham series to do. When I played Knight, there was definitely a small feeling that everything was losing its luster. It's not bad, it's a great game. But it definitely felt like this was all the series had left to offer. I think it should be left at this, before it turns into a franchise zombie.

I've only recently noticed that you can see Arkham City and New Gotham (Royal Hotel, woo!) from Wayne Tower. A nice touch.

Loving the combat - it's really been tweaked to the maximum; more counter time, more time being 'inactive' before the combo is lost; lots more enemy types, more counter variations, lots of new moves, upgrades to existing moves (but no more Bat Swarm!); however, the quickfire gel and freeflow focus seemed to have been nerfed a little, while beatdowns take longer. I'm still discovering new moves, as it seems there's a new follow-up to the extra aerial attack (the one where Batman jumps onto a different enemy than he started from). There's also cool little tweaks where, if a wall is preventing Batman from reaching an enemy, Batman will move around (jump off) a wall to attack the enemy. Weapon stealing and Environment takedowns only add to the already deep fighting system. I'm really, really pleased with what RS has done here. I'm hoping that the upcoming DLC has some really fun combat maps to get stuck into.

Predator is also vastly improved. A new grate system, more range and flexibility on silent takedowns, and a new enemy detection system. Fear takedowns seems very flexible in their applications and flow smoothly into combat. Gadgets while flying takes some getting used to, but with time I can see myself relying on them to initiate combat. It's a pity that we don't have that many predator rooms as challege maps, because the ones in the campaign are so much fun and show just how much care and work RS have put into predator (Stagg Airship Beta comes to mind).

I'm curious about the DLC Crimefighter Challenge maps and whether or not Batman's playable allies from AC will have new moves, gadgets or even changes. When we did get to briefly play as them in AK, they lacked any new moves (Catwoman's moveset seemed especially lacking).
