Batman: Arkham Knight

Yeah, that was absurd and dissatisfying,

I get why people are disappointed in the story but with moments in the game I just think that there's so much great stuff in this game and directions.

What separates this game from Asylum and City is it's about Batman's allies. Grant it, Nightwing gets the shaft a bit but how they involve Robin, Gordon, and Barbara was great. Batman being so scared about what's going on so he locks Robin in the thing only for later on, Robin gets taken all because of how Batman didn't want him to be out there. How they involved Oracle with the Arkham Knight taking her and Batman tells Jim about her with also her "death" was a well done and great scene". The elevator scene with Jim and when they confront Scarecrow and how Crane forces Batman's greatest ally to turn again him. The ending where Cranes forces Jim to do you know to Batman after Crane did you know to Robin.

The game really was Batman and his relationships with his allies. How he pushes them far away so they wouldn't get hurt only for them to be used against him. When you think about Batman's greatest stories, rarely do we see his allies in them and involved and it was just great how Rocksteady involved them.

Also the take on Scarecrow is brilliant. It's the definitive Scarecrow. Disappointed no nightmare stuff like Asylum but design and characterization, it was ****ing perfect. I loved when after Batman destroyed the cloudburst Crane said something like sure you destroyed the cloudburst but the entire world bear witness to what has happened. Gotham is forever tainted with your failure.

Also how our friend was used was great too.

Yea Deathstroke was disappointing but I look at Knight and feel there is so much more positive than negative and when it's good, it's really really great.

Exactly, and that's what irritates me even more when it comes to the DLC. Despite the family having such a great influence over the entire game, Rocksteady keeps using "Be the Batman" as (********) justification for putting limited AR maps in there for Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, etc. instead of just putting in regular challenge maps like everybody deserved and wanted. :wall:

I like how with each update, the game becomes more and more glitched. :whatever:

Though the Arkham Knight reveal was predictable and disappointing it did make for some truly extraordinary sequences. The scenes in the movie studios when Batman hallucinates Jason's torture, it is so well done because you the player are experiencing it first hand. There is no distance that comes with it being a cutscene. Rocksteady has been able to do these kinds of experiential narrative moments throughout the entire series and it's always great. Through them they've been able to use the unique attributes of games as a storytelling medium to their fullest. The Joker as a character is used almost exclusively in this way, a borderline genius way to integrate him again. So while it is a bummer that Jason was the Arkham Knight there is a silver lining to it in the form of those disturbing moments.

I'm sorry, but no it wasn't. No one had predicted that one ahead of time when I was reading through the forums before release. Arkham Knight, sure, but don't give yourself that much credit.

Not ahead of time did I know that joker was black mask but when the game came out it only took me like 10-20% of the way though the game before I started thinking oh no black mask is really joker why why did they do this? With knight I had no idea who arkham knight was in till like 50-60% of the way though and even then it was handle much better then joker being black mask in AO. To say that AO was not predictable but then to say that AK was is just funny.

I'd say the opposite is amusing, seeing as the very first name I recall being speculated when the Arkham Knight character was announced was [BLACKOUT]Jason. [/BLACKOUT] It was obvious even before the game came out and then the game practically telegraphs it as it suddenly inserts [BLACKOUT]Jason[/BLACKOUT] into the backstory of this universe. It's like when that one new character shows up in any piece of fiction at the same time as a villain who's identity is a mystery. It's incredibly obvious. And the game doesn't do anything with him after the reveal apart from a 5 second appearance. As I said, I do like this game, but most of the Arkham Knight stuff was bad. The high points were primarily Scarecrow-related or the Harley/[BLACKOUT]multiple Jokers[/BLACKOUT] segment.

Sadly spider man 2 others like LEVITIKUZ guessed arkham was Jason Todd before the game came out cause of the guns the style of fighting and the personality . I was there to see it. I was hoping they(rock steady) would do something like to have that way to have both arkham knight & jason in the same room to throw both bat man and us for aloop cause batman would think it's him and it would be someone they said was made specifically for this game. I wanted it to be like both mystery of the bat woman and mask of the phantasm sadly that didn't happen here. they went with the too obvious rout here. which I wanted them to avoid.

As to the joker being black mask. I don't know if I'd call it a surprise. but it was a too much of a joker grand standing thing perusal(kinda my issue with the freaking X-men movies from fox) which is why I had some major conversation with chris Bale and others and said if there's ever another bat man game I hope the other villain character have more time to shine in their own story arc's like how they do in tv series episodes or comic story arc's in game form and also to have these things in game to take place with in the story of the game beyond just one night.

with a number of other things that should be done.

they should be satisfied with what they did with Joker here.cause it too the point of over used and over exposed. The other games after this unrelated Arkham or not should aim to do stuff differently now and explore new things if they can.

The only issue I had with the tank battles was later on with [BLACKOUT]Deathstroke. I mean really? you're not going to do a pound for pound fist fight with him? [/BLACKOUT] That was such a letdown.

It's more disappointing to me considering [blackout]he already had a boss fight and was a playable character in Origins[/blackout]. Boss fights are practically non-existent.

I knew who Arkham Knight was the moment he spoke to Batman, but that didn't take away my enjoyment unlike finding out Black Mask was The Joker. Now that was some ********.

I didn't mind the lack of boss battles except for that one. That one deserved one hell of a boss battle especially since it was towards the end of the game.

This

I just finished playing the new DLC pack and it's just bad. Anyone who has not yet, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it. Two maps that are already from the game and then 4 generic rooftops.

Still thought forcing us to use the car so much sucked. When you make an open world game you don't force players to play a mission one particular way. Open world games are about options...and AK didn't have that for much of it's game.

What's the new dlc pack?

The crime fighter pack feels lackluster. The predator challenges are rather easy because we've already done them before, and while playing as other characters is fun, the fun is sucked out by the maps themselves. They're all bland and really pales in comparison to what has come before. Admittedly, Teen Titan is pretty hard, but (and maybe this is just me) I can't find much enjoyment out that map either.

Crime Fighter Challenge Pack. 6 maps, 2 of which are already from the game (the last firefighter rescue, the last bank heist) and the other four are just generic rooftops. All character specific too.

Haven't played this game since I beat the story mode. The tank was completely boring. The one tank fight outside the police station was legendarily bad. I mean how many tanks is enough? Plus the cops huddled up in there like chickens lol. I would trade it in if didn't but the pack. Even still I might trade it in. They were just lazy. That's the best you could come up with Hush?

It's a damn shame all or most dlc have been disappointing, Such potential!

Looks like more of the same plus the Batmobile. What a waste. Just give us all the maps we played in the game itself and open them up to all 7 characters, not this nonsense.

It's hard to believe how exciting and good the DLC sounded when the game first came out, but it's faltered pretty now. Sure, the skins are cool and the Batgirl pack was pretty decent, but everything else has been a let down. I'm still holding out hope for the season of infamy, but my expectations have been lowered.
