Batman: Arkham Knight

And yet, I remember everyone blaming Dini for the story problems with Arkham City.

I fully suspected the problems lay with Hill & Co from the start.

I just find it funny because city had a lot more villains and people complain even though it made sences to have those villains in there with the story they wanted to tell. Knight had very few villains but again that was fine and made sences with the story they wanted to tell yet now people complain that there where not enough villains in the game. People complain about knight story being predictable even though origins was a million times more predictable and worse yet people love origins story. Origins story is so overrated it makes me sick.

You should save your breath. The season pass could've included an entire extra games worth of content and everyone would still say it's overpriced. Once people found out it was $40, their minds were made up, "this is BS". Most gamers hate DLC, they think the game developer is holding back content for an extra buck, which it kind of is, but all the DLC I've played takes place outside the core storyline. Personally, I'm a huge fan of DLC content, it gives me a reason to go back to games, I would've loved when I was younger to play a couple more Mario levels or Zelda dungeons six months after the games release, while waiting for the full sequel. Hell, extend the DLC longer, have side teams working on the DLC while the core team works on a core sequel. I loved when Borderlands would release a new DLC, sure it wasn't more than a 4-5 hours of story, but it still brought me back to the world and rewarded me for not selling the game shortly after beating it.

Yeah I am convinced that people would have complained not matter what about the season pass. Knight just like ever game has about a main story of about 12 hours. I have not played witcher 3 and people say it had a 10 hour long story dlc but do people really think they would make a 10 hour story dlc for a game that main story was only 10 hours to being with lol. With knight we got lot of challenge maps, skings, race tracks and story dlc with catwoman, robin, nightwing, hardly, redhood that where 15 minutes each. Batgirl got a 45 minute and a hour and half if you include side stuff. SOI is going to be at least a hour. That means all of those = at least 3 hours and 45 minutes.

People act like the season pass should have been $15. Now the season pass may be a little over price but there is no way that at least 3 hours and 45 minutes of story dlc, 7-8 different batmobiles, sever race tracks, lots and lots of challenge maps, being able to play has 8 different characters compared to the 4 in like the other games should only be worth $15 no way! Maybe less then $40 but $15 no way. Maybe like $30-$35 or something but $15 come on people!

I think you mean origins story was that.

Nope, nope, pretty sure he means Arkham Knight, arguably the worst written Arkham game and a massive step down from the writing quality of Origins. I'd even put City and it's fetch and quest repetition above Knight's writing. At least it's emotional beats hit, which is more I can say about Knight.

I think you mean origins story was that.

No, he would have been wrong if he said that :cwink:

Even if the price added up per content, it still doesn't make it worth it. Someone earlier said that the DLC so far has been like 'morphine injections' and I can't think of a better way to put it. Nothing substantial, just flash. Little snippets that can't stand on their own.

The Origins DLC remains the best - extra challenge maps, Intitiation DLC, and the best DLC of all four games - A Cold, Cold Heart.

This.

A cold cold heart was only like 2 hours where batgirl with side missions in knight was a hour and 30 minutes. That is only 30 minutes less and that was like it for story DLC for origins where knight also had catwoman, robin, nightwing, robin, hardly story dlc. Knight is also getting lots and lots of maps and you kind of make my point there even origins charged some for challenge map dlc. Even is knight had challenge maps day one most likely they would have still had some has dlc like origins and city both did. Also SOI looks like worst case it will be a hour story DLC.
Ive only played the Harley side story and Cold Cold Heart was much longer than it. It was basically a few challenge rooms. There was more to CCH than just that. The DLC was good and worth the money. If all the "story" DLC is on the same level as the Harley one as people have been saying, then no they dont compare

I didn't say that the Harley story was has long has cold cold heart. I said that the batgirl was like a hour and a half compared to the 2 hours of cold cold heart and that when you then add the other stories in knight to then the story dlc in knight = at least 3 hours and 45 minutes compared to origins witch had cold cold heart witch was 2 hours and then no other story dlc at all. Harley is way short then heart but batgirl is close + the other story stuff that is in knight makes knight have more story dlc then origins had.

It's about quality not quantity. None of them measure up to the quality of 'Cold Cold Heart'. I'd rather have a 2 hour DLC worth playing, then having a string of short ones measuring a total of 4 hours that bring nothing substantial or interesting.

Indeed, and DLC that you never feel like playing again.

Arkham knight is a great conclusion to the arkham games. The story was fantastic and really what the hell do people want in the story. I'd like to see people write a better idea. Just constant complaints.
I enjoyed the hell out of this game and have finished it multiple times. The game was easy and challenging in some parts. Which was great. The tank battles were a great addition. Its the game I've always wanted. But in the end does it really matter what others think..... No it doesnt.

We're not writers; thats not our job. As consumers we can determine if a product was enjoyable or not and many didnt enjoy the story. Great that you loved it but the game was flawed and all the criticisms are valid.

Maybe other people dont want the gcpd, robin, nightwing, oracle to be useless and completely incompetent.
Maybe people didnt wanted the focus to be again on the joker and instead wanted focus on scarecrow and batmans fears.
Maybe people didnt wanted to play 70% of the game in the batmobile.
Maybe people didnt wanted lackluster Boss fights.

When it doesnt matter what others think, why complain about people complaining about the game?

Like the Batgirl DLC. I 100%ed it in like 3 hours and that was it. I mean, don't get me wrong. It wasn't a waste of 7 bucks, but I would've much rather paid 20 bucks for something substantial.

Is this like your schtick? Try and defend things that deserve the criticism they get?

I know what you said. I dont have Batgirl, as Harley is my only frame of reference nad what Ive read since Batgirl was released was that it was on the same level as Harley. And like others said, quality >>>>> quantity. Id rather have 1 really well done story DLC than several superficial ones which add nothing and arent all that great

Sure.

I'd have to agree to disagree regarding much of the criticism though, as it worked very well for me and I enjoyed it just as much as the other ones. It's art, it's subjective.

I really enjoyed Arkham Knight and so I disagree with some of the criticism but I can't say it's all invalid of course. For me personally, I welcomed the tank battle additions because I wanted something different since I've played 3 games of the same predator and combat rooms.

I do think they got lazy in a couple areas and just threw in a tank battle here and there instead of something more creative, The Deathstroke is probably the biggest offender here but I didn't have much problem with the tank battles overall. Still, the Batmobile and tank battles were some of my favorite parts of the game. I just can't believe they didn't have the Batcave in this game, a huge missed opportunity to be able to drive there when we wanted :(

I wanted that lake exit from (and entrance to) the Cave to be in-game soooooooooo bad.

I second this, that would be so awesome!!
They obviously had so much fun creating these ridiculous Riddler tracks and ramps, they should have upgraded the assets of their old batcave and created that Batcave entrance jump along with it :cmad:

Is this real?

Dopest dope. Guess I gotta grab this game back from my buddy. When's it releasing?

Huge Arkham fan. Still have not had the pleasure of playing this game. If everybody was saying they were loving it like they loved Asylum and City, then it would be killing me that I haven't played it yet. But all these people saying it's a disappointment certainly eases me in taking my time to get to it.

This will be my new favourite suit. Shame there's no Superman content to go along with.

Yeah, I can understand people hating DLC if it's on the disc or something, but they're people that also hate the idea of DLC to begin with. Even if it wasn't been worked on until the game was already far into development. You'd think people would be happy that there's now technology where extra content can be added to our favorite games. If DLC wasn't around, the game wouldn't be delayed or anything so that the stuff would be added. It just wouldn't be in the game period.

Some DLC naysayers tend to go on about how in the pre DLC days, games were "complete". Yeah, I remember there being only one version of SF2 and being able to play as the Shadaloo members or Cammy and Fei Long in the original version. Or being able to play as Scorpion, Reptile, Raiden or Johnny Cage in the original MK3. Or how Sonic & Knuckles was completely playable when Sonic 3 came out. Good times....

Hell some games back then had enhanced rereleases. Sometimes on different consoles. I'm not sure if either that or on disk DLC is worse.
