Batman Begins Batman Begins is the greatest super hero movie ever.

Nope, Batman Begins is hardly perfect, no superhero movie I've ever seen is perfect, its great, its fantastic, & its stays reasonably true to the comics but its not the best superhero movie ever in my opinion. I can't say its not the best, full stop cause that would be dictating that my opinion is superior over everbody else's which it isn't, but in opinion Batman Begins has too many flaws to be the best superhero movie let alone Batman movie.
What superhero movie is then?

You'd probably call me a Burtonite if I said both Batman Returns (favourite, sue me) & batman '89 are better (in my opinion) & you'd probably call me an idiot if I said Iron Man.

And believe me I ain't a Burtonite (love both interpretations) nor a Marvel buff, Batman Begin, Returns, '89, & Iron Man are all very close in my top 10 just I prefer the others just a tad over Begins.

BATMAN BEGINS TRULY IS THE GREATEST SUPERHERO MOVIE, ALTHOUGH I THINK TDK WILL TOP IT SOON, :brucebat::yay: , IT GOT EVERYTHING RIGHT.

IT IS THE ONLY COMIC BOOK MOVIE TO HANDLE A SUPERHERO WITH SUCH RESPECT AND STYLE AND, GRACE.

IT IS THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF COMIC BOOK MOVIE. IT HAS SUBSTANCE.
AND EVERYONE LOVES BATMAN. HE'S THE BEST.

ALL THE MARVEL FILMS HAVE SUCKED, SPIDEY 1 AND 2 WAS GOOD BUT THEN SCREWED UP WITH 3, IRONMAN WAS NO BIG DEAL, JUST A POPCORN MOVIE, BUT THEY'RE ALL LACKING, THEY'RE ALL HEY I GOT POWERS LET'S FIGHT, THE END, THEY'RE NOTHING.

NOW IF ONLY WB COULD HANDLE SUPERMAN WITH THIS MUCH RESPECT AND HIGH QUALITY AND REVAMP THAT FRANCHISE.

Somebody's got issue's I prefer '89, Returns, & Iron Man but all 3 have many faults, no film is perfect, no superhero film is perfect, & Batman Begins is certainly not perfectly but The Dark Knight does look set to correct me wrong on those points.

Same here. Begins had the best ingeredients for a superhero movie (director, actors, story) but some of the executions felt weak to me (action, dialogues, one-liners, Scarecrow, Rachel).

I'll go further and say that for me one of the bestest comic book character adaptations ios the TV pilot movie of The Incredible Hulk (1977) with no CGI, big budget, action seque3nces that include fights and/or super-villaiins.

BR and 89? In my opinion those arent even comparable to BB

Superman: The Movie?

I shouldn't even be responding to this post--what with the terrible grammar, caps lock, and just plain idiocy, but...wow.

Batman Begins is my favorite movie. No other movie has ever made me feel such chills while watching it for the first time. Hell, I still get chills during certain parts of it even though I've seen it probably 100 times at this point.

It definitely is a special movie. Not my absolute favourite, because there are so many different comic book movies that are different and have better techniques at times. However, it does rank among my favourites, and has a significant part of my pathetically low, but appriciated collection.

A quick list {best to worst}
Batman Begins
Superman {original}
Spider-man 2
Ironman
X-Men 2
Spiderman
X-men
Blade

I dig BB & think it was the best Batman movie ever made so far. But if you ask me, I think Superman: The Movie was better despite some campy stuff & Otis along with Luthor wearing the silly wig thanks to Hackman not wanting to shave his head. :p

And I would show how my list go on my fav. superhero films here.

1.) Superman

2.) Batman Begins

3.) Spider-Man 2

4.) X-Men 2

5.) Iron Man

It's probably my favorite superhero movie, but that's not for lack of contenders.

Spider-Man 2 and X2 are right behind it, followed by the first two Batmans, and Superman: The Movie and Returns.

It just gets things right for me. I love Bale, I love Nolan, Scarecrow is my second favorite villain behind Joker and Cillian was great in the role, Ra's was great. I just really like almost everything about it. It's not perfect, but it's great.

I can watch it almost endlessly. If I catch it on cable, especially if it's the party scene or after, I have to watch it through till the end. It gets me pumped and it's retained its excitement after dozens and dozens of views.

My favorite part of the whole movie, as cheesy as it may seem, is -

"There's nobody left to send in." - ZOOM, enters the Batmobile!

Haha - it's just such a stand up and cheer moment. It sums up why I love the character; he's the man you want in your corner when the chips are down, who'll fight till the last breath.

Not sure how old you are, but back in the 70's it was at times referred to as Superman: The Movie. Below is from IMDB.

Superman (1978)
aka "Superman: The Movie"

I don't think you read my post thoroughly, especially the quoted and highlighted parts.

I would put Batman Begins in my upper tier of superhero films, but not right at the top. The problem with the film, versus a film like Spider-Man 2, is that the villain story and the supporting characters are just there. They really don't hold their weight next to the main story, which is Bruce's origin. And as Kevin mentioned earlier, I didn't quite feel the Batman mystique whenever Bale put on the costume. And lest I forget the really shoddy attempts at action sequences.

Whereas with Spider-Man 2 (which I feel is the most complete superhero flick to date) everything in the film matters: Harry's story, Mary Jane's story, Octavius' story, May's story. And it's all tied together. Not to mention the action sequences were kinetic and imaginative. The thing I will say, though, is that Begins was far better paced than SM2.

But in the end, I think a lot of fans mistake Begins' "darkness" and "edginess" for quality, and chide Spider-Man 2 for its more light-hearted moments and dub them "campy". I just don't believe in that mentality, whatsoever.

BB isn't even in my top 10 superhero movies and nobody in fiction is a greater character than Batman in my eyes. 19 of my 24 years have been dedicated to being a Batman fan. Maybe I'm such a big fan that it is what ultimately dissapointed me with the movie, I went in expecting way too much and felt ungratified just like with the first X-Men movie.

TDK on the other hand I do see making my top 10 with ease everything I've seen about it screams greatness. The trailers and info are in line with everything I wanted from a Nolan directed Batman movie especially when it comes to Bruce Wayne/Batman himself. Damn these next few weeks it feels like a damn eternity.

Please, please, please never ever, ever, ever compare the Godfather to Batman Begins...and by the way, you'd be wrong, the Godfather has no flaws; most consider it the perfect film.

The Godfather is not perfect. In fact, the film has one major flaw that holds it back from being pure cinematic perfection.

Robert DeNiro isn't in it.

This oversight, however, was amended for The Godfather Part II.

:cwink:

The Godfather being perfect without DeNiro makes it the perfectest.

"Begins" is a good CB movie, but it's certainly not the greatest.

I personally bestow that honor to Donner's original "Superman." but everyone has an opinion on that fact, so obviously these types of discussions can go on forever and bear nothing thought provoking or revealing whatsoever.

Still kinda fun though.
