Batman is the Demon

"That Batman is a demon", that's what monsignor Pasquale Maria Mainolfi, protesting during a Mass for the Batman statue by Canadian/Italian artist Adrian Tranquilli that the City Council put on the belltower in the main street of Benevento, a city in the south of Italy.
The statue is part of an art exhibition, that will last up to January 27th and it's one in a collection of works by Tranquilli featuring superheroes (he's done other satues with Superman, Spider-Man and Wolverine) that was already shown at the Kunsthalle in Vienna, at the Dali Museum of St. Peterburg in Florida and at the Iaspis in Stoccolma.

I did a quick search for Adrian Tranquilli and almost every picture I found had Batman on it. He makes sculptures and it's ultra-realistic stuff, almost like real people using a Batman cowl.

Most of the pages were in Italian though. I got to understand reasonably due to our common Latin roots, both Portuguese and Italian are languages that came from Latin (the old dead language).

My mother, very well knowing that I'm a batfreak, sent me by email an article of this (old)news, it had a picture of this statue, not a bigger picture than the first one on this page (in fact smaller), but it was taken from another angle.

We can pretty tell that it's not Robin. It is just Batman's knee.
This, or Batman has a huge Dick.
