This is of course open to all fans interpretation/ opinion, but given that more & more fans are buying older Batman books & newer fans are wanting to learn about his history, by reading some of the origin stories of his supporting characters,

WOULD IT BE SAFE TO SAY THAT BATMAN IS IN A NOSTALGIC CRAZE?

I mean has he been in or is the character currently being looked @ in a nostalgic light?

Are we paying more attention to Batman's history than ever before?

I think the film has generally just peaked peoples interest in Batman. Casual fans are reading alot more and people who havent read the comics before are coming in. One of the obvious ways for them to do this is read up on the histroy or origins of the charecters, it's a good time to be a Batfan.

so the movie is solely to blame?

i can't decide if I agree...

it's a good point

I think it's a massive reason, maybe not the only one but it's gotten people interested in Batman that proberly never were. My girlfriend after seeing TDK asked me if she could read some of my Batman comics, in the 7 years I've known her she has never once shown any interest in them, and she enjoyed the Burton Batmans. Maybe we're at a particular peak of interest at the moment.

it's not a bad thing, but it's interesting... & it's our responsibility as longtime fans to make sure that new fans stay interested, by recommending STORIES & peaking their interests

Not nostalgia just a craze. Naturally people getting into the character want to know as much as they can about his established history. The first comic I ever bought with my own money was Batman #440 back in 1989 I had been a Batman fan before that but I wasn't into comics just the TV shows. Anyway from that point forward I was always interested in reading as much older stuff as possible especially since I had already been used to reading comic reprints thanks to an older cousin.

I just never had the resources till like 1996 when I was a 13 and was able to afford some 70's reprints by working odd jobs around my way. As the 90's ended and I got older I started buying golden and silver age archives as well and to this very day I try to buy as much Batman stuff from before my time as possible. But it's not something that just happened I was always interested in Batman's comic history on a larger scope I think some other older fans (at least in comparison to your average SHH poster anyway) are probably the same way but it's not nostalgia it's just genuine interest.
