Is anyone watching Batman Returns on TBS right now? They just finished airing Batman Returns and they are airing it AGAIN! :wow:

lmao there is a batman marathon on today which started at 12 pm. Batman - Batman Returns - Batman Forever - Abomination.

Which channel  I remember HBO had a Batman marathon recently!

Does TBS cut out the entire scene when Batman spys on the Penguin at the Hall of Records like A&E does? And when the Penguin bites "Josh" in the nose?

Yeah, a little! Its kinda disappointing!

Thats a mad scene :)

Yah i watched them both brought good times lol they sure did alot of cutting during the good parts!

Why do you not have it on DVD?

I have TWO copies-!

Yes, I have it on DVD. But...I was in the mood for a little Batman Returns and it was on TV.

Since BR is like close to 2 hours I've seen it chopped up a bit in parts when it is aired in syndication to allow for the 2 hour time slot.

CBS tended to air Batman'89 in the 2hr. 30min. slot.

Ever seen the Canadian TV-PG prints, they are 91 minutes?

No Bull****ting here,
A Canadian Station called "Family Channel" that shows mostly Disney and Made for TV Movies shows a version which is 91 minutes and CUTS A LOT of it OUT!
....

It is Cropped for TV, then they took out all Minor Foul Language with Cuts,
then they took out all the more intense stuff, like the Penguin biting the nose, all the stuff Batman does to thugs with his Batmobile in the beginning action scenes, the shots of Catwoman scratching the man in the alley, half of the Selina Turns to Catwoman stuff, including cutting out her going back home and then back to the Office and thus making it seem like she went back after Batman saved her. Numerous stuff is cut using "Fade to Black" and back, as if going to a Commercial, but since Family Channel has No Commercials it just fades, stays a few secs and then comes back at a later time. It has TONS of Cuts and the list goes on....

Penguin going through the records of the kids, all the indeundo-ish stuff between Penguin and Catwoman, and Batman and Catwoman. THE WHOLE SCEQUENCE WHERE SELINA IS CHANGING TO CATWOMAN AND BRUCE IS BECOMING BATMAN AFTER SELINA RUNS FROM BRUCE'S AND BEFORE THE CONFRONTATION WHERE THE ICE PRINCESS FALLS. It fades after Selina runs out and comes back with Batman all dressed exiting his change room in the cave and right to the batmobile in front of the building and batman entering to where he fights Catwoman and where the "Eat Floor High Fiber" line takes place.

So, Anyone seen this version!!????

I seen them show this like 7 times back about 4 years ago, then they stopped showing it, then they showed it again this past year in same form.

Family Channel also has a VERY WATERED DOWN print of "Cocktail" with Tom Cruise that is PG, and a PG "Secret Of My Success" clocking in at 95 minutes out of the original 115 minutes with Michael J. Fox. Their Cocktail is also 92 minutes, as well they have a 91 minutes "Ruthless People" with Danny Devito and Bette Middler. All of these films share the same RAPID Cutting and Dubbing process!

I don't think I could watch an edited version or Ruthless People, the foul language and other things are what make it funny.

The crazy thing is that Family Channel shows "Secret Of My Success" which requires NO EDITS to be a Family movie, being ALREADY PG, with so many cuts it takes the fun out of it. "Secret Of My Success" is already appropriate for families it should be shown UNCUT! Also, Ruthless people is NOT A FAMILY MOVIE and SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ON THEIR LIST OF MOVIES TO EDIT FOR A FAMILY, same goes for Cocktail, which looks Absurd on Family.

On Christmas day they played 89, Returns, Forever and B&R back-to-back on of the cable channels here.

I walked in and my cousin was transfixed with B&R. I didn't have the heart to turn it off. She's six. I hope she isn't all fu*cked in the head now.

I once rented Batman '89 on VHS and the whole walking up the cathedral was cut I suppose so the movie could fit into the 120 min tape.
