I used to feel that way until Batman Begins came out and redeemed the franchise cinematically. Now I just embrace it as a parody/homage to the Adam West show and movie.

I can't accept it's existence. It's a film that just makes me f'king rage.

I love Batman ‘66. It actually succeeds at what it intends to do. And as mentioned earlier, it really contributed significantly to the comics and the Batman history. In fact, the character may have ceased to exist if not for that show.

While B&R didn’t succeed in what it aimed to do, I must admit that I find it wildly entertaining. It’s not quality, mind you (and I would certainly call the Adam West Batman to be be a quality interpretation) but at least B&R does have an entertainment factor present.

Superman IV I derive no enjoyment from. But admittedly, I need to rewatch it. I do love Reeve and Hackman, and I remember being excited about Nuclear Man when I saw the commercials for it as a kid, because I thought he looked formidable. But the movie was surely a let down.

But in truth, I would probably rank Superman III lower than Superman IV.

I have BF and B&R posters in my man cave. Gorgeous visuals all around in the Schumacher films. Superman IV is ugly as sin.

Both are bad but, despite a few moments in B&R, Superman IV is a lot better. I would call Superman III, Supergirl and Superman Returns all quite a bit worse than IV.

The visuals in Batman and Robin are so gorgeous. So many beautifully composed moments with vivid color. 565EFA30-4B64-4112-A21D-037ECAC2D632.jpeg4B5A7E1B-01AA-46B0-B99B-AB781D2DA443.jpegC375B579-F6BC-4707-B860-79854B85AB3C.jpeg70C5E603-A577-4993-8202-27FB350AB61B.jpegF9F70C5B-10DA-4645-9BDF-DCA172C8A71C.jpeg4C8A3653-1064-4357-B209-0586DE6022FD.jpegBDF8FF23-57A0-4587-B5EF-8449702AD3EC.jpeg

B&R is terrible but Superman IV is such an abomination that I literally feel bad for Reeve when I try and watch it. Both are abysmal but Superman IV looks like something that college student made in 1987 with a camcorder and pair of VCRs.

It's true. It's like the budget went mainly to Reeve and Hackman's paychecks and they strung together whatever they could with the rest of it. It didn't help that the production company was basically bankrupt either.

Think of how fun it must be to be the guard that watches over all the villains' costumes. Like if that were me, I'd by trying on all those outfits and prancing about in front of the mirror, saying 'Catch me, Batbrain, catch me! Hahahahaha!'

Ahem. Excuse me.

They lost 2/3 of the budget only weeks before shooting began and then had the rest robbed for Masters of the Universe. I'd reckon any film would turn out awful if they suffered that kind of loss during pre-production.
