BvS Batman Vs. Superman... can this be a fair physical fight?

Could a new Batman possibly beat "The Man of Steel" in a fight?

  • Yes, Batman has the resources to beat Superman.

  • No, Batman wouldn't stand a chance agaisnt the current Man of Steel.

Superman has already defeated stronger and smarter opponents that used Kryptonite. Stronger, Metallo. Smarter, Lex Luthor. Batman only wins or fights Superman to a standstill, when literally everything is written in Batman's favor, Superman holds back, and also suddenly is an idiot.

I've said before that how Superman and Batman fight each other depends on how it's written. You can see writers liking Batman more than Superman thus resulting in Batman defeating Superman.

If they connect this with Nolan's trilogy, what do you guys think about Batman using Ra's toxin and it working on Superman? Maybe it would work initially(in their first and only fight), but Superman's system would recover on its own and become naturally immune. Fox could also create some kind of EMP weapon that distorts Superman, either straight knocking him out or distorting his senses like in MOS to the point where he passes out after Batman hits him with a tumbler blast or something. I think there are ways for Batman to win without resorting to Kryptonite. Batman could also be the one to get his hands on the world engine and figure out how to recreate the conditions on Krypton so he can build his own suppression room for Supes.

I'd be fine with the toxin working after all he does breathe the same air so I guess it's logical to believe certain gases would effect him.

Ra's toxin may not work on a Kryptonian. I like the idea of a Kryptonian suppression chamber, though.

Which is why a prepared Batman should "sneak attack him" with Supes holding back the whole time. When he finally wrestles Batman away, it should be clear that this wasn't really a fight as much as it is Batman being a jerk to someone not intending to fihgt.

It's like a little kind beating the big guy on the playground. You wouldn't call that a fight, because there's no real retaliation.

Superman should throw Batman like a rag doll and catch him in midair, just to silence the "Batman can beat him easily" crowd.
Yes, there should definitely be (and I expect there to be) a few "you don't tug on Superman's cape" moments.

I'd like to see batman use multiple ways of weakening superman.
Likely going in to the fight
1. Fear gas modified.
2. Something that amplifies or affects solar radiation to mess with supermans bearings sort of like when he was a kid when he couldn't control his powers
3. I can see batman deducing krypton is his weakness. (Meteor coming towards earth and superman goes to stop it but gets hurt and bounced off of it, and when the meteor lands Bruce realizes that superman with his calculated strength should have been able to stop it and realizes this rock might be his weakness)

No, for the containment of a perceived threat. He just wants to keep Superman prisoner so that he won't harm anyone else.

I don't like the idea of Batman creating Kryptonite, either. If anything Lex should create it, but I like the idea of it being meteor samples that are used to form an alternative battery source, like with Metallo. I like the idea of Lex learning Superman's weakness from pure coincidence.

Well that is all awesome then. I like that a good bit, actually.

**** yeah. Cavill's Superman needs to come off like a boss in this. Cavill was the best part of MOS for me, he was great as Superman and really shined in some moments, but he needs more moments like that to shine in the next movie (re: "Don't play games with me, General", "I think you're trying to find where I hang my cape", his introduction to Emil Hamilton, etc - those were great to me).

Agreed.

Yeah there were all great confident Supermn moments more if that will do nicely

I wouldn't mind if Batman used smoke grenades filled with Kryptonian atmosphere on Superman. I'd certainly prefer that to something like Kryptonite.

Sorry but that sounds ridiculous

Why? Generally curious, as we already saw the effect that even the fumes have on Superman when he attempts to destroy the World Engine. Obviously that alone wouldn't be enough but it would begin to make the playing field more even.

I think the fight should go down exactly as in the recent Batman/Superman comic. Batman throws out all the stops and annoys Superman and Superman holds back because he thinks he's dealing with a nut. Even the cartoon had enough sense not to have a real fight. The real conflict was in ideology.

I'll put it this way, in a fair fight, hell no. But if Batman is willing to fight dirty, he could certainly win.

Nah, Batman wouldn't ever win, he could certainly put up a good fight though given the right circumstances. I imagine this film will have an obligatory "Batman with armour and Kryptonite vs Superman" and an eventual Justice League will have the obligatory "Superman vs Wonder Woman".

Any fight between these two need to end with Clark "having enough" and showing the puny human who is boss.

^ 'Twoud be refreshing. I'd love it if he threw Batman to the sky and caught him by the foot, saying something like "What were you thinking?"

It'd be funny, without feeling too "Marvelesque."

Bman fans can scream all they want. They have the best superhero games, the most acclaimed superhero movie (and that's not counting the other two), an awesome tv series with good spinoffs, some of the better DTV home releases, and this isn't counting some of the amazing graphic novels released.

Batman can afford to lose this one. Let the ******** begin!

It's not by chance that Batman has all that stuff. He's a great character with a great mythology that resonates with a lot of people. Talented people always jump at a chance to work on something Batman-related. Just the way it is.

Both characters will come away looking good in their own ways when it's all said and done. Some Supes fans are just acting totally insecure right now. Neither is going to be the sacrificial lamb to the other.

If Superman fans are worried that Batman will look more badass in this film...well, yes. He will. He's supposed to. That's the whole point. But he might be somewhat antagonistic too, getting people to sympathize more with Clark.

Plus, as we've seen this version of Clark isn't totally beyond getting pissed off and letting out some aggression ("YOU THINK YOU CAN THREATEN MY MOTHER?").

Both are gonna have their moments to shine. The ******** seems to have already begun for some Supes fans though.

Which I found to be inappropriate for the character. Especially considering the ensuing fight destroys a lot of stuff in Smallville.
