I'm gonna have to go with Keaton in Batman Returns. Just looked so effortlessly bad-ass.

Keaton looked the best, but Bale gets the "harder to recognize" title.
You're just a sucker for the lips. hahaI'm gonna have to go with Keaton in Batman Returns. Just looked so effortlessly bad-ass.![]()

I think Bale's Batman's furrowed lips and chin is equally intimidating.
These two pics to me are my favorite "in the cowl" pics!

Now THIS should have been the first pic released of Bale as Batman![]()
Glad some of you guys agree!!!That is literally the best picture I've ever seen of any actor dressed as Batman. Maybe partly because the lighting makes his mask look almost blue. I mean, that IS Batman.
this is a good cowl pic similar to the one up above I found over at the Batman Movie Online forum!

No, my boy Crook has admitted on many occassion he's a sucker for pursed lips. What furrowed lips?
Hmmm, I'd disagree completely.K.B. said:Blae has absolulty NOTHING on Mike "BAD ASS" Keaton!
And what is that exactly? This is why Keaton is the better Batman.
And what is that exactly?
LOL
Burton chose to light Keaton in a way that enhanced his limited physical features to make him believable and menacing.
It was a fantastical approach to Batman, and the lighting was as such. It was designed to enhance Keaton's precense.
In a real world context, he'd actually look terrible as Batman. And that's when you know Bale is the more bad ass Batman. He looks intimidating in real world structures, buildings, and lighting.
Look at him in the scene in the parking garage in TDK. Keaton wouldn't look that good in that lighting especially given his physicality standing next to the beefy dudes in that scene.
That's why Bale's the perfect storm as Batman. He looks good in REAL SETTINGS. Imagine what he'd look like in Burton's fantastical, gothic setting with lighting that just accentuates his best features. He'd look even cooler.
I mean for me personally, Bale made Bruce look intimidating. Check the scene where he knocks the **** out of the clown thug at his party. The look on his face, he looks bad ass without dramatic lighting, or even a Bat cowl for christ sakes.
