This is a key component of Batman's WAR ON CRIME!

so he's had cylinders & pouches & the belts been all sorts of colors in the films & comics etc...

so, since there have been many different opinions about the belt... Here we go...

DISCUSS/ ARGUE... post pics or art of thebelt either on Batsey or broken down!

i dont understant the BB belt. Where does all the stuff go to?

Yeah, I'm not a big "fan" of the BB's belt.
Personnally I've always preferred the cylinders belt. I love it. I kinda like the pouches belt, but only when the pouches are really small like the JL cartoon batman.
I love the simple sharp cylinders belt.

i don't understand either, the belt is supposed to be magnetc or something... all the stuff just hangs off of it magnetically

Then whats not to understand? You have a hard time figuring that out, compared to Burton's that had little sticks throughout the entire belt? Burton's and Schumacher's didn't even have any kind of pouches for Batman to put anything in.

Where does he put stuff on this belt?

See, the Begins belt has "pouches", and can hold things magnetically.

Whats not to like about it?

the pre-begins belts were more for show i think... to resemble or represent the belts from the comic books... but there was never any explanation to where he kept his gear.... NOW there was an interview by someone in the mids 1990's that claimed that in both the burton & schumacher versions that the gear was hidden in the back, like under the cape, but that's still pretty vague

One feature added to the utility belt in the two Tim Burton directed Batman films, Batman and Batman Returns, was a small motor which would move items from the back of the belt around to the front allowing Batman easier access to his weaponry and tools. The feature was seen briefly when Batman and Vicki Vale were escaping the Joker's henchmen in the alley and when he rescued Selina Kyle from the Penguin's clown henchmen at the beginning of Batman Returns.

yeah Socko, you must've gotten that from Wikipedia.... i knew that already.... i'm sure most batfans did, JUST SAYIN'...

i think it would be interesting to have a police belt, but make it have actual miniaturized cylinders & maybe some good sized pouches TO ACTUALLY KEEP UP comic continuity

^wow, where is that from? I like that picture a lot.

And yes, that belt looks cool too.;)

I disagree a little. On the first Batman forever's belt there WERE pouches. As your pic shows it. The small bubbles on the belt, small and very "round". I've always taken it for the pouches. A little small maybe, very sexy (a must for schumacher) and they didn't disturbed me that much. I was thinking that maybe, it's high tech design from wayne enterprise or something like that. I found that it was indeed, a good idea. Yet not my favorite.

I think i like those belts better than the begins one

I recommend making one out of yogurt pots and empty cereal packets.

I always prefer the sleeker belt. Kudos to Miller and others for trying to make it more realistic, but I don't really need that in the belt. I like the BF one, and especially the B89 with the idea that stuff gets zipped to the front.

the begins belt had the same motor thingy as the 89 belt. personally i liked the begins belt the best, it felt like it had a certain amount of clunkiness to it that made it seem a little more plausable

It didn't, he's just confused, it was magnetic, and you could attach pouches/boxes to it.

i think it's interesting how in the comics, although pouches seem to be the norm in modern continuity, sometimes we see batman's belt drawn in many different shapes, @ many different angles etc. EXAMPLE: instead of pouches, we might just see squares or something on the belt & see it as a SIMPLE design more than a functional belt SIMILAR TO Batman '89

^What do you mean ? For the pouches, I only remember correctly the Ed McGuiness batman ones. don't you have pics of what you are talking about ?
BTW, motors on the bat begns belt ?!? Never heard of that.

I think the idea of the FOREVER belt was that his gadgets folded out of those capsules.

Yeah agreed, in B89 his grappling hook line motored to the front of his belt, as witness in the scene where they are in the alley and he asks Vicki how much she weighs.

I like the Begins belt, mostly for its functionality. The sleeker belts are nice for looks, but I would rather see his gadgets. Even if they are hidden in pouches. The Grapple gun goes behind, under his cape. It's that clunkiness and realism that make me love it.

i was merely commenting that sometimes in the comics & a lot w/ fan art that batman's belt is not really defined....

sometimes instead of pouches ir cylinders, we see a belt w/ seperation lines, that forms squares....

there's no detail @ all (as in BTAS)

I also think sometimes, as in Tim Sale's art & sometimes Jim Lee's the detail is so great, that what we end up seeing on the page is a big jumbled mess around batman's waist

eh, I can only see the T.Sale's one. But I think I know what you mean.
