Agreed. Looking at the pouch versions, seems like it could get kinda cluttered in there. Just for the sheer amount of gadgets he has, and how small some of them need to be...

lock picks, batarangs, smoke capsules, explosive charges, radio gear, grappling gun, rebreather, and God knows what else.

I'm sure he keeps it very organized, but still.

One feature added to the utility belt in the two Tim Burton directed Batman films, Batman and Batman Returns, was a small motor which would move items from the back of the belt around to the front allowing Batman easier access to his weaponry and tools. The feature was seen briefly when Batman and Vicki Vale were escaping the Joker's henchmen in the alley and when he rescued Selina Kyle from the Penguin's clown henchmen at the beginning of Batman Returns.

Which, of course, is an easy way of allowing him to pull anything out from the back, without anyone questioning how he manages to hold all that stuff on the small of his back.

Essentially, it still appears out of thin air.

I personally prefer the pouch belt; I just think it looks cooler, heh. The only gadget that may not fit neatly into a pouch is the grappling gun, which I always thought should just have it's own visible holster, ala a cowboy's gun belt.

I like em both... the pouch belts more realistic yes, but you can't argue with tradition... the cylinder belt stood for about 60 years before they officially changed it....

speaking of which... does anyone have any pics of the belt design from BATMAN the ultimate guide.... can't find em anywhere..

I like the 1st one. I don't know, I like the realistic approach the best. Doesn't seems like he could fit all that stuff in a few capsules. Then again it is a comic.

Would be nice if the belt was in camo too, to better hide in the shadows but what are you going to do?

i rather like the begins belt, but if i would've made the nolan films, I would have made Bruce on his first night out, strongarm a cop & take his police belt... then he could've tinkered w/ it & turned it into a frank miller/year one esque BELT...

w/ pouches & the effects team could've made it look awesome & that would be a great explanation to how h got his original belt
