So, what do you think happened back in 1942? Was it a real UFO the military was firing at but seemed to have no affect whatsoever, and right over LA?

Only though this was supposed to have happened. You won't find any movie with this that I know of. There are some eye-witness accounts on youtube and elsewhere if you search. If it happened, it's amazing.
