It's the 66th Anniversary of the Roswell UFO Incident.

Marcel has proven to be an unreliable witness. Unfortunately, Mac Brazel (the rancher who found the debris, and reported it) died long before people started really looking into the incident again.

However, we do know that he was taken to the Roswell base, and sworn to secrecy. Apparently he was very upset with the military's heavy-handed treatment, and wished he'd never reported anything.

One of the reporters who interviewed him, said he spoke of alien bodies. Obviously there's no way to corroborate that, since both he, and now the interviewer are dead. The sheriff who Brazel talked to who helped him get into contact with the military is also dead, though his descendants have made claims of confessions from his widow.

The biggest conspiracy fodder has been the government / military's own strange reaction to the incident.

The military's strange response to Roswell makes a lot more sense if you realize that they really thought the country was beset by flying saucers - something they couldn't exactly admit openly.

Marcel Jr is unreliable, but how did his father prove to be unreliable?

Marcel Jr is unreliable, but how did his father prove to be unreliable?

He claimed to be an ace fighter pilot who shot down five airplanes. He's exaggerated his military record several times. He's also claimed to have attended colleges he never attended, or received degrees he never received.

Quite frankly, we should take anything Marcel told us with a grain of salt.

Roswell is an investigatory nightmare. Everyone is dead, and there never seemed to be an end to the people who said they saw something, or had someone tell them they saw something. Plus the town outright profiting from the incident doesn't exactly help objectivity.

The only reliable evidence is that dating back to 1947, which is fairly scarce, since, people lost interest in Roswell after the "weather balloon" press conference, and moved on to other sightings.
