Been a long time: The Enterprise Disscussion Thread

Okay, Enterprise has started reruning on Sci Fi, and with the new movie on the way that could possibly be based on Enterprise I figured it was time it got its own thread. What are your guys opinions and ideas about Enterprise? Feel free to post pics or fan-art here too..

it was good at the beginning, then it slowed down, then they did that whole xindi time travel nonsense. Then after that, they started recycling plots they had already done, from before the xindi crap (like they ran out of ideas, and just started remaking episodes they had already done a couple of years earlier).

I was not impressed. Never missed an epi b/c it was trek. But the show was subpar in everyway.

It had a few good eps, but overall it was pretty bleh. I could never really get into the crew either, Archer was only slightly better than Janeway.:down I did like Tucker, and they pointlessly killed him off in the finale.

But the Temporal cold war explains why there were changes since TOS.

Enterprise was pretty poor, it lacked the interesting characters and there was no decent inhabitants on the ship, The stories were trying to be interesting, whilst not being able to make new ground, ending up in stupid stories like the temporal cold war etc. There was nothing in this series that made it feel like star trek, it felt more like a poorly thought out sci fi show

I don't even watch it anymore... I simply just can't watch it.

I will say that I did love that intro. That was a nice break from the typical Star Trek intro's.

The theme song was ridiculous... it didn't set the mood for the show in the correct way. We get it, every decision Archer makes is with his heart. We get it. No need to write a song about it.

I enjoyed seeing how they portrayed familiar ships and cultures in a whole new era.

I'll second that, before they put the 'rock' into it. I don't have alot of kind words for Enterprise, but they did have some good production value and a few decent, dare-I-say good, episodes each season. Bakula, great choice for a Captain; Archer, though... terrible character.

Regardless, I would have preferred it stayed on the air rather than being Trek's death knell.

The season 4 intro? God that was horrible.
Here is a more traditional Trek Intro:

Cheers bud, that was great. I should add to my entry above that I think I'm one of the few that did appreciate the 'history of spaceflight' thing they had going on for the intro, actually choked me up a bit seeing the astronaut (Armstrong?) mixed in with my Trek. Nice touch, that.
