Wolverine/Yukio vs. Shingen - Amazing scene, the defining moment for the movie and Logan himself. He's immortal and forever destined to be a ronin. Shingen sees that Logan is now completely immortal, having just rid himself of the device holding back his mutation, and yet he still finds the courage to do battle with him. The guy's a warrior and shows that he'll never back down, no matter how great the challenge. I love the moment where Logan dishonours Shingen by retracting his claws, Logan knows he's already won the battle, and the best way to defeat a man as hellbent as Shingen would be to remind him of why he was battling in the first place, he betrayed his own daughter and dishonoured his own family. There is no way around that, Shingen's a complete lost soul and forever destined to be a ronin (if only he survived).

Only saw two of these films Wolverine and MOS but since I feel Wolverine is the better film so that makes it edge out.

For me it was everything Man of Steel related but if I have to pick The Battle of Smallville did it for me the most, seeing that for the first time in IMAX was astounding.

My favourite line was when Logan saves Yukio and Shingen says something along the lines of "It is freaks like you and her that ruined this house, and mutation is God's mistake". I love that line so much, it feels like Logan's about to go up against the world of people, like Shingen, who hate him for his mutation when he hears that.

I so wanted to go with the Lone Ranger Train scene,but I've gotta go with Wolverine/Yukio VS Shingen.I mean,sure we all pretty much knew Logan wasn't really gonna die,but that had to be the most intense couple of minutes while he was doing his "self surgery".And his final clash with Shingen was just the icing on the cake.

Tough. For me, it comes down to The World's End and the two fights in MOS. But I'm going to have to give the edge to the final battle in Metropolis.

Yeah Sanada was excellent throughout the whole scene, really sold the hate and madness he was going through.

One of the most intense CBM fights I have seen on film to date and that includes anything in the DC universe as well as Marvel.

Well my favorite of the year isn't even on here but of that lot it's The Hobbit/barrel ride easily. Most that seem to have made it to the finals I don't even think are good on much of any level(TW).

Gotta go with the Battle of Smallville. That, and other action sequences in Man of Steel, were just jaw dropping.

I also love the Wolverine/Shingen fight in The Wolverine, and of course, the opening sequence from Gravity.

While i haven't seen everything on the list i voted Wolverine/Yukio vs Shingen.

While the action listed in MOS & Pacific Rim was great, it was great spectacle of CGI porn whereas the Wolverine/Yukio vs Shingen fight was excellently choreographed and intense in its pace.

Most that seem to have made it to the finals I don't even think are good on much of any level(TW).

Have to go with the opening scene of Gravity. If I had a second vote, it would have gone to Wolverine/Yukio vs Shingen.

The Barrel Chase in Hobbit: DOS. While I would have listed Gravity as my primary choice, it is hard to select the opening as the best as the film is a continuous, uninterrupted experience; trying to select one section of it as the "best" is an act of mutilation. Returning to the Hobbit, I loved how the sequence progressed from humorous to serious to dead serious to horrifying (Fili getting stabbed, the carnage created by the Elves' archery) to humorous again. Bombur going Donkey Kong country on the orcs was worth the price of admission alone.

Hmm. So let's see, because I have a MOS avatar, that means

1. MOS is my favorite film of all time
2. I think it is the greatest achievement in the history of cinema
3. I think it should win every kind of poll or award
4. I think it is humanity's greatest achievement, even a bigger achievement than building the LHC at Cern.

Right? Right?????? Surely this can be the only meaning of me having a MOS avatar.

Had to pick to Hong Kong sequence from Pacific Rim, no other sequence has made my jaw drop so many times as that, it was just amazing action all the way through and it kept ramping up right until the end.

LOVED the Dwarves vs Smaug, Yukio and Wolverine vs Shingen, the opening of Gravity and both Superman battles a lot as well, but the HK sequence just tops them all for me.
