This has been a year with some killer action in it,so nominate 3(and only 3) that you think were the best......this thread can stay open until Monday night when i will get modlips:-)heart:) to close it and then I'll make a poll of the top 8 consisting of the sequences with the most noms in this thread

My noms

1)The Chesapeake bay bridge sequence-MI-III

2)Free running crane chase -Casino Royale

3)Plane sequence-Superman Returns

1. V For Vendetta-ending
2. X3-Danger Room sequence
3. Snakes on a Plane-getting the snakes off the plane

Anything in CR. Seriously....that was some of the best action I've seen in one film in long time.

Everything, from the way he just murdered those dudes in the beginning, to the chase scene in Madagascar, to the Airport chase scene, to the staircase fight scene, and the Paris building finale.....

Aside from whats been said...

Magneto stopping the convoy in X3.
I know people hated the movie but...Violets stealing and breaking out in Ultraviolet.

The plane sequence in SR make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I think its by far the best.

The sword fight on the wheel in Pirates 2 is all I can think of right now.

you got the best 3 already. but i'd put the last stand in The Last Stand in there as a 4th though not at the same level as the others.

The Sword Fight in Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the best I've ever seen.
The Chesapeake bay bridge sequence in MI:III
Everything in Casino Royale.
The Plane Sequence in Superman Returns.
The Ending in X3 pretty cool, not like the comics at all, but still pretty cool.

The Casino Royale chase had my pops nudging me. That means it's a good one. ;)

The plane scene in SR was a massive disappointment (I was expecting more).

what?

noone suggesting Dante chasing Becky from Clerks II?:p

Man, to be honest, this is hard to choose. The plane sequence from Superman Returns was great, but that's about the closest thing that's come to blowing me away this year. A few of the scenes from dark Silent Hill were amazing, but they weren't really about the action.

Didn't like M:I:III, but I've yet to see CR.

Thank you for mentioning Kevin Smith. His work only gets better; A perfect example would be Clerks 2 as you mentioned. I hate to change the subject but I am new to the forum and need some help. Can anyone tell me what fighting Style was used in the following movies? Plus, where I might be able to find material on those styles?
The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Supremacy
The Hunted(Tommy Lee Jones, Del Toro)
Batman Begins..
ANy info would be greatly apreciated. You can reach me on this messege board (as Grendel13) or on yahoo messenger(warpath4ever) if you need, I can provide an email if it's not posted on my profile.

Ship yard shoot-out - Miami Vice
Chesapeak Bay Bridge shoot-out - M:I:III
Fight at Jean Grey's - X3

-------------------------------

The Bourne movies incorporate a lot of Kali(Escrima, Arnis) in their choreography. Batman Begins utilized the Keysi Fighting Method, and as for The Hunted; i've never seen it.

Crane scene - Casino Royale
******* car chase - Crank
the chesapeke bay bridge scene - MI3
The Ending - Crank

Long take in the refugee camp - Children of Men
Hands down the most realistic. Very intense.

V's last stand - V for Vendetta
Just beautiful looking. And kickass.

That's it really. Those blew me away. POTC2 and SR had some nice ones. But not of the same caliber.

Ofcourse I still need to see Casino Royale.

1. End Kraken sequence - POTC2 - 'Summon the Kraken!' Davey Jones was just awesome.

2. V's Last Stand - V for Vendetta - I agree with Carmine, it's pretty damn awe-inspiring.

EDIT: I changed my mind for the third. ;)

3. Superman saving various parts of Metropolis at the end - Superman Returns. Just awesome.

Plane sequence from SR.
The TV studio scene in V

Haha, same thing with my dad. CR was an amazing film with all of the action scenes being top notch.
