What ARE the best and most memorable ad-libbed lines or SCENES in film or television?

My choices:-

(1) "Bring me that horizon" - Captain Jack Sparrow, POTC:COBP. Apparently, Depp improvised the line the morning of shooting.

(2) "I'll be back" - The Terminator. Arnie's original line was "I'll come back".

(3) "I'm Batman", Batman (1989). The original line was "I am the night".

Not line but one of the best ad-libbed scenes is Indy shooting the Swordsman.

Fair points, ad-libbed scenes as well.

That Indy scene is one of the BEST ever!

Actually now that I'm thinking of it, Harrison Ford also ad-libbed the line of "I know." during the Carbon Freezing Chamber Scene for the Empire Strikes Back.

^
Great line by Ford, 100% Han Solo

(Though ROTJ ruined it completely with Leia repeating it...)

"We're gonna need a bigger boat."
-Jaws

I think some of those great alec baldwin and mark wahlberg lines from the departed were ad libbed.

That is one of the best Jack Sparrow lines btw

but...

Every Christopher Guest movie is the best ad libbed line ever

but more specifically those movies when Fred Willard is in them

"Wha'happend!?"

"Literal reference, there was an old pirate captian by the name of moby dick, he had the famous line, 'thar she blows', any ways, i think it would be funny if in the middle of the song, you yell 'thar she blows' and we'll dump a bunch of water on all of you....yes even the ladies (whispers in a guys ear), but anyways when the schtick is over, you guys can turn your guitars around, and kurplunk! water will come out of the guitars, and you can say...'Hey Wha'happend!"--Fred Willard from Mightey Wind

Best in Show "which one of these dogs is the faster, if we where to get tiny jockyes and put them on their backs, and race them, who would win? if we where playing football who would be the wide reiciver, and who would be the tight end?"

fred willard is a god among men

From Blade Runner, the "Like tears in the rain" line.

Wasn't the "I love you." "I know." exchange in ESB adlibbed?

Han was supposed to say something like, "I love you, too!" But Ford changed the line. (Thank God people used to have enough balls to stand up to Lucas, without fear of being devoured by his flannel.)

THAT is a great scene! Rutger Hauer's performance runs rings around Harrison Ford in that film, but that ONE moment changes the entire film. For the first time, you're asked if a person has to be human to be relevant (the whole point of the film).

LoL

Obviously every single Jack Sparrow line Johnny did for you know he had to have did alot. For i heard the writers say he invented lines they wished they could take credit for like the Eounch line.

The "You Talkin' To Me?" sequence in Taxi Driver and the scene at Tommy's mother's house in Goodfellas were both greatly improvised.

Mike Myers also ad-libbed the "Cream Of Sum Yung Guy" line in Wayne's World.

Thought it was Ford and Kershner and he essentially said to Ford, just say what comes naturally.

Wow, i didn't know about many of those scenes being adlibbed.

What do they call you? Wheels?! by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men was originally What do they call you? Baldie?

And 'The most annoying sound in the world' in Dumber and Dumber was also something Jim Carrey came up with on the spot like only he can.:woot: Those are the ones i know of off the top of my head.

i'll go with just about anything from anchorman/40 year old virgin/talledega nights/etc...

they could (and did, with anchorman) make a whole extra movie from their additional, spur of the moment lines.
