Best Film Scores Of 2011

Captain America had a really awesome score. It's the only one out of all the movies I've seen from last year, where I can remember some of it.

Besides the march and some action cues. I found Silvestri's CA:TFA score to be nothing special.

After listening to Game of Shadows' score I gotta say, I think it's Zimmer's best work in years. Really great score.

In no particular order.

Hanna
X-Men: First Class
Thor
Winnie the Pooh
Cowboys & Aliens
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Contagion
50/50
Moneyball
Drive
The Muppets
Hugo
Young Adult
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
The Adventures of Tintin
War Horse

Agreed.

Aside from it, First Class and Captain America are the only other scores that are on my top tier.

HPDH2
Thor
Fright Night
(although a game) Batman Arkham City
X-Men first class
James Hannigan's HPDH2 (yes, I know, a game)
War Horse
Tintin
Sherlock Holmes 2
Mission Impossible
Super 8

*ones I enjoyed but weren't best*

rise of the planet of the apes
Green Lantern
Cap America

I think the score by Antonio Pinto for "Senna" deserves a mention.

When matched with the footage in the film it's beautiful.

My favorite film of 2011 and my favorite score of 2011. Senna's win in Brazil and the scene with the closeups of his face before he drives off to his death are real tear-jerkers.

"Source Code" was another score I enjoyed very much from 2011. It also features one of my favorite cues from last year as well.

It really makes that scene in the movie. It's very touching and beautiful. Words can't really describe this cue enough for me.
