Best Hellboy Movie

So the initial feeling given by the first trailer was right...

I'm still puzzled why Hellboy hasn't yet been adapted into a streaming series. It seems like the ideal format.
An already established and fair public recognitiona, a vast lore to explore, that fantastic/horrific/mystical atmosphere that so many successful series have tapped into and continue to do so...
It's just a no-brainer to me.

Not to be that guy because this movie does look like a fan film, but do we have actual confirmation this review is legit? It's the only review I can find and It's from a nothingburger publication.

Even bad films deserve credible reviews not rage bait for clicks and ad revenue.

This movie has no hype at all... where's the marketing? I've only seen the trailer, and I had to look for that. I'm sure it's going to bomb... which is a shame, because we can probably forget about another movie. (Maybe we'll get a tv show in the future? I think that might work pretty well)

Also, the guy playing Hellboy looks more like he's Hellboy's sidekick or his little brother. He just doesn't have that same screen presence as Perlman or even Harbour.

I mean it's a low budget movie. If anything there's been more marketing going on for this movie than I intially expected.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man US Release Date Revealed

Hellboy: The Crooked Man is heading to theaters in the UK this Friday, but now we know when American audiences will get a chance to see the film. As of this week, video on demand (VOD) platforms are showing Hellboy: The Crooked Man available for pre-order with a Tuesday, October 8th release at 12 a.m. ET — meaning 9 p.m. PT October 7th. No domestic theatrical release for the film, the fourth entry in the Hellboy franchise, appears to be scheduled.

Saw this here in the UK. I think mileage will vary as my Dad and Aunty hated it. But I really enjoyed it. It stuck REALLY close to the comic story it was based on, but added more of a drawn out conclusion (which I thought they might).

The cast is really game, and the actors/actresses they got to play Tom Ferrell, Effie Colb and Cora Fisher were absolutely on point. It's definitely low budget but that brought it a certain charm.

It wasn't big laser beams shooting into the sky but I enjoyed that about it. I liked them going into Hellboy's creation a lot more as well, which again was quite faithful to the comic. A bit like The Crow 2024, I can see this one gaining a cult audience in the future. 7/10.

Next to Deadpool and Wolverine, this is the second best CBM of the year. If you're a fan of the comics, it has what it's big budget counterparts are missing. If Microbudget films aren't your thing, you're gonna have a bad time. I don't see this finding a wider audience so if this is HBs last cinematic hurrah, there are far worse notes to go out on.

This is the best Hellboy movie since the original one in 2004. It’s closer to something like Pumpkinhead than Indiana Jones so be prepared. It’s low budget southern gothic horror.

Watched The Crooked Man again last night, I like this movie a good bit. It has that low budget charm and most things are done practical which in this day and age is really rare. Kesy brings a subtly humanity to his Hellboy, while Rudolph and White are really good in their roles also.

Next to Sin City, it's probably the most faithful comic book movie ever made.
