Where do you go when you want some good mexican food?

I used to love Chi Chi's, but they went away. I've never really enjoyed chain mexican places, I prefer the small family run ones. There's a really good Mexican/Italian Restaurant on 103rd Street in New York City (I think). There's also this really good place out west in the St. George, Utah area. I can't think of the name right now though.

I went to Chipotle for the first time this week, and I love their fajita burritos.

mexicali rose here in the bay:)

If any mexicans on here actually say a place other than a family member's or their own house...sellout, vato.

Who will be the first to say Taco Bell?

Damnit Spider Fan .. you ruined my joke!!!!!!!!!!!

Never been to Taco Bell...I see Taco Bell, I see myself running for the toilet.

I don't go to 'chain' Mexican restaurants and call it 'mexican food' . . . it just doesn't work that way . . . I'll have my mom cook, or go to a local mexican-run restaurant for some authentic shyt

americanized mexican food . . . is

Mexican culture has basically been viewed by gringos as follows:

- tequila

- nachos, taquitos, sopes, any faux mexican food chain

- chihuahuas

- latina hookers

- lowriders

- spring break destinations

heh . . . Chi Chi's is slang for t1tt1es in Spanish . . . joke's on the white folks :D

that being said, I love Chi Chis too :P

El Meson in Freehold, NJ.

Jaunitos in Red Bank and Howell, NJ.

Jose Tejas in Iselin, NJ.

Chi-Chi's the restaurant, I believe got closed due to hepatitis outbreaks at the ones in Pennsylvania?

^yeah . . . Chi Chi's sucks . . . we were just saying how Chi Chi's means t1tt1es in spanish slang . . .

Dont like the food or the people!

I stay home and cook the dishes myself, or go to a friend's place and cook them there (and, no, I'm not Mexican).

If I have to go out...it all depends. I love Moe's as they have awesome Tex Mex food and their ingredients are always fresh. Chipotle Grill is another place I enjoy dining at.

As for authentic Mexican food...I haven't really found a place for that which I enjoy. It's all Tex Mex stuff. :csad:

Across the border.

Tacos, tequila, and my shoes polished and cleaned by some nino for a dollar.
