If we say post-Unforgiven (1992), which are the best westerns of the modern day?

I'd pick these three:

Tombstone
The Quick and the Dead
3:10 to Yuma

I have a soft spot for Tombstone and 3:10 to Yuma but not so much for The Quick and the dead. I am a huge Raimi fan but somethign about that movie seems off.

I'd add to that list Open Range.

Definitely Tombstone.

What do we consider modern? My favorite westerns are the Leone westerns but that is 40 years ago.
If we are talking the past 15 years I'd say Unforgiven, Tomb Stone and definitely the Young Guns films.

I have yet to see 3:10 to Yuma but am eager to do so.

Tombstone
3:10 to Yuma
Open Range

Westerns are basically all the same. It's ending climax is a train robbery or a shoot out/stand off.

I'm gunna be honest

3:10 to yuma was extraordinary

I loved it

We should just make this the western thread lol

I'd suggest 'Dead Man' with Johnny Depp....if you can find it WATCH IT!!!!!

dead man rules

like all jaramusch movies it is a little slow for my favorites taste but it is a sweet movie none the less

I agree Open Range was a good one ,..Great even
No endorsements for 'Renegade' the Blueberry movie?

I'm shocked and apalled that no one has mentioned "Shanghai Noon". For shame!

if Unforgiven isnt on your list, there's something wrong with you...also, 3:10 to Yuma.
