I’m sure we’ve all got our preferences, and as much as I revere the many works of John Williams and as undying as my love is for Elfman’s Batman theme (Giacchino’s too, but it’s still too new for me to feel comfortable going too nuts over it)…

I think my all time favorite might actually be Brad Fiedel’s Terminator theme.

The main title theme for Star Wars was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this thread, so that's what I'm going to go with.

It's Jurassic Park for me.
Still probably the greatest score that never got an Oscar nomination. Of course Williams ended up winning that year for Schindler's List and it might as well have also said (and also for Jurassic Park) on the award but he should have been a double nominee in the category that year.

It's hard for me to pick one favorite. Terminator, Elfman's Batman, and Jurassic Park are up there in my top 5, but I gotta throw in Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard for Batman Begins.

Actually, I got my favorite.

My #1 pick has to be Howard Shore's LOTR.

This would be my # 1 if John Williams were taken out of the equation. Howard Shore has had an insane career.

BTTF is also in my top 5 Alan Silvestri killed with that theme and the rest of the score

Batman 89
Superman 78
Beetlejuice
Pee Wee's Big Adventure

Those are probably my top 4.

I'm a fan of Elfman's work obviously.

I feel like the Coen Brothers/Carter Burwell are almost never in this kind of conversation, but they’ve given me a few dark horse picks…

always liked that opening theme to Raising Arizona it's so good!

while not as legendary as John Williams ICONIC Superman Theme, Hans Zimmer's take on a Superman theme is right up there

Jerry Goldsmith's theme from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, it was so good it was later used for the opening of Star Trek: TNG and TNG films and shows based off of it like Star Trek: Picard and one bit in Lower Decks

As great a Trek theme as that is, it’s funny how tonally out of sync that is with The Motion Picture. It’s so lively and that movie is so… well, you know. :o

T2 version blows that out of the water.
