Best Movie Theme EVER?

Why are you always so snippy? Going around scoffing at stuff. We’re just trying to have a fun conversation and you come in like a buzzkil.
Not for nothing but you started it by quoting his post and basically saying, "No, this is better."

WAAYYYY too many to mention, but I can't see past John Williams Superman theme.
Just for me personally, its iconic. It's my childhood. It's my memories of watching Superman on VHS with my grandfather.
Perfection.

Agreed. I like Hans Zimmerman but his score for Man of Steel wasn’t than memorable.

Still probably the greatest score that never got an Oscar nomination. Of course Williams ended up winning that year for Schindler's List and it might as well have also said (and also for Jurassic Park) on the award but he should have been a double nominee in the category that year.

Wow, can’t believe that.

I was thinking about other iconic scores that never even got a nomination. And looking back that Danny Elfman’s Batman and Edward Scissorhands weren’t nominated. Insane.

I truly believe that it was because of Schindler's List that Williams didn't get a nomination for Jurassic Park. Which is kind of outrageous but at the same time he still won that year anyway so it's *kind of* forgivable. Ditto with Spielberg. Those two had an outstanding 1993. I also have to wonder if Schindler's List hadn't been released that year if Jurassic Park could have scored a Best Picture nom in its place. If Jaws, Raiders, and E.T. got them then surely Jurassic could have too but I see that year as just being a Spielberg celebration even though Schindler's List was the one that got most of the glory.

The double nomination makes sense. Ironic that Williams would get dual nominations in the same years as Harry Potter/AI and War Horse/Tintin but maybe both being directed by Spielberg was too much for Academy voters circa 1993 but not 2012 lol

Perhaps the rules changed after that? I still have to imagine that Jurassic Park is the most well-known/famous score to never receive an Oscar nomination. Even some of the James Bond films got a Best Score nod.

Not the most famous theme, nor the most bombastic or hummable... But it's one of my favorites :

That mood!

I mean

come on

(pretty much anything by John Williams. Just has to be)

There's many obvious big ones that would be easy to name drop like Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Terminator, Star Wars or Back to the Future (or countless other ones). A personal favorite I don't see mention nearly enough is the Raimi Spider-Man theme. I always get goosebumps when that intro kicks in.

It’s because the Danny Elfman’s Spider-Man theme is basically just a remix of his Batman theme, his Flash theme, his Dick Tracy theme, his Hulk theme, etc. Don’t get me wrong, Elfman is awesome but I feel like he’s gotten away with doing the same music over and over without people really noticing. He’s kind of like the Aerosmith of film composers

The James Bond theme.

Only because no one's mentioned it yet.
Yep! The original Monty Norman theme from Dr. No is cinema's most iconic theme music.

I'll also submit John Barry's escape from Piz Gloria from On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

but what I liked about his spider man themes was he added the villain theme to it for part 2 and 3 which was a nice touch
