After watching Captain America, one of the better parts of it imo was how great Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell were together. So in comic book films, who has had the best chemistry?

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Aaron Eckhart had pretty good chemistry I think. Kirsten Dunst and Tobey McGuire also.

After having seen it for a second time this morning, I was better able to appreciate the Rogers/Carter dynamic. Since I knew how the relationship would play out, I did not have to worry about it being sloppy.

From the very first exchange, there was great chemistry...scrawy Rogers et al...

Kirsten Dunst and Tobey McGuire also.

thats probably the worst... i have no idea how those two were in love. lol

the scene in batman returns with michele pfiefer and keaton dancing where they figure out each others identity is prob as good as it gets...

captain americas love interest felt forced.. she was the only chick in the military therefore she had to be his bich lol...

affleck and garner had great chemistry in daredevil... their relationship actually stole the spotlight from the actual plot and villains and wasnt an annoyance like mary jane.

Wow... I literally can't answer that question... Can't think of a single pairing I could note for their chemistry.

I suppose Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman were okay.

Its real close for me between Reeve/Kidder and Keaton/Pfeiffer. The only reason Reeve/Kidder get the slight edge is because of they pulled it off well for two movies and it was taken to the next level in Superman II.

I'm gonna go with Keaton and Pfeiffer.

Gotta say Nolan and Batman. Without the director, we wouldn't have the Dark Knight Saga. For a director to turn out a good movie, he needs to be comfortable with the source material, his direction and vision for the movie. Ergo, Nolan and Batman as a franchise and character have the best chemistry, onscreen.

RDJ and Paltrow, because that is honestly how a lot of real world romances are. Kinda subtle, you crack on each other, etc.

Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. It was really touching when Lois died and Superman brushes the dirt off her face and gentle as he could. The build up during the movie is what makes it so effective.

sigh. does nolan have to pop up in every damn thread on here/

I say batman returns housed the best chemistry but thought thor had some good in it to. Just needed a few more scenes. havent seen cap yet.

Downey/Paltrow for sure. She could give it out as good as he could.

I went with that for the same reason. Some of these parings are really good and even iconic in some cases but Stark/Potts was the most amusing and felt natural.

Spider-Man had much better romances between Peter Parker and Mary Jane than all of these combined. Night Owl and Comedian's daughter are better too.

Downey and Paltow in Iron Man certainly had it; definitely agree.

Hemsworth and Portman in Thor were really good together too.

I would also say Reeve and Kidder in the first two Superman films.

I can't agree with Keaton and Pfeiffer though. As Batman and Catwoman they had good chemistry but as Bruce and Selina, their scenes were awful. Probably because as Selina, Pfeiffer looked like a goddamn corpse. I couldn't realistically believe anyone would lust after that.

I haven't seen Cap or XMFC yet, so I'll reserve judgment on those. But I'll go with:

Ben 'n' Jen in Daredevil;
Tobey 'n' Kirsten in Spidey;
Nite Owl 'n' Silk Spectre (Jr.) in Watchmen; and
Magneto 'n' Charles in the X-flicks. (Probably including First Class, when I see it.)

Out of the actual storylines, I'd say Thor and Jane have the actual most romantic arc (it's truly an epic love story when it spans time and space); but I don't think Hemsworth and Natalie had the chemistry to live up to that Wagnerian operetta.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Gardner in Daredevil
Logan and Jean in X-Men

RDJ & Paltrow. Feels more real than any other superhero romance to me. I mean they had the sense to wait all the way to the end of the 2nd movie before they ever even kissed and when they did I was like 'YES!'. And I generally dislike romance, but this was just so well earned.

1. Michael Keaton and Michelle Pffeifer in Batman Returns--the only adult romantic relationship that felt genuinely real and important to a film in this genre.

2. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2--Haters gonna' hate, but despite how accurate (or not) it was to the comics, these two had real chemistry and successfully pained the audience to want to see them together. They were the heart and soul of the first two films (the good ones) and when they finally got together in SM2, it made for the most crowd pleasing ending in the genre to date. The fact Jackman/Jassen's blandness are on here and they are not is wrong.

3. Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow in Iron Man, Iron Man 2--They are probably by far the most purely entertaining to watch. Favreau was obviously going for a Howard Hawks, "His Girl Friday" vibe with their oddball banter and it worked wonderfully. they were just so much fun to watch and, IMO, were the most entertaining thing in IM2. However, their relationship was always played for laughs and was never significantly important to the overall story or themes of either film, so that is why it is lower than the above two.
