Thaught i would create a poll on the sci-fi tv shows. if i miss a few i am sorry but with so many cult classics and great hits. What was the best science fiction tv show. From Smallville to The X-Files. What show on this poll was the very best . Please do give me a few moments to post the poll.

I wouldn't call Angel, Buffy, Charmed, Beastmaster or Xena a sci-fi show

maybe you should just change the name of this to best, fantasy/sci-fi show

because you've overlapped plenty...

anywho, best sci-fi is farscape

best fantasy on that list is Angel.

overall I would give it to Farscape which i thought got better with each series, Angel peaked for me in its first series so meh...

BSG, but I hate that you put it together with the old one.

Farscape is the best SF show in TV history, but Galactica is a close second.

Well I consider all fiction and those shows do have a bit of fantasy and sci fi in my view. Star Wars is a good example of an arguemnt between fantasy and sci. I think Angel and Buffy are Sci Fi if you ask me.

Nothing compares to Farscape. At all. It's just that much better than everything else.

It's like "Hey, would you rather eat chocolate covered chocolate, or would you rather eat a tin can?" Yeah, chocolate covered chocolate.

does anyone know how the hell stargate has managed to run for so long, i don't know a single person who watches it...

Damn you for making me choose between BSG and Firefly!! :shakes fist:

No Twilight Zone? and since when Is Beastmaster Sci-Fi, isn't it more like "fantasy" or "general geekery"?

the six million dollar man

1. Twilight Zone
2. X-Files
3. Star Trek series (too hard to split them up and stack them against other shows)
4. Farscape
5. New BSG (it may surpass Farscape, but it hasn't yet, though it is the best show on TV right now)
6. Firefly (would have been much higher, but it didn't last long enough to develop into what we all know it could have been)
7. Lexx

I would add to that The Outer Limits because I loved the predictably twisted endings.

Narrator at the end of outer limits : something something IRONIC TWIST something something.

The New Outer Limits had some decent episodes, and the intro is one of the greatest in television history, but it was no Twilight Zone.

I'm kinda surprised nobody's mentioned Eureka. It's not "THE BEST SCI-FI SHOW EVER OMG!!!1", but it's pretty damn good for a Sci-Fi Channel original series.

Based strictly on personal favoritism, I'm gonna have to go with Farscape for the win. For longevity/nostalgic purposes, The Twilight Zone can't be beat.

Currently I'd have to say that Battlestar Galactica is hands down the best Sci Fi show running, and probably one of the best ever made. So I'm putting downa vote for the new BSG.

But really, comparing all these different sci fi shows is like comparing apples to oraanges to kiwiis to watermellons.

Wait I was going to put down BSG but it says 'both battlestar galaticas'...

Why? One is like horrible and the other is a reimagining that should really get it's own slot on the list. It's not like Startrek where they're in the same universe even.

:cmad:

Ok I'm not even going to vote, even if I ignored the both on the BSG, having to mark down either it or Firefly would probably drive me to insanity.

ARGGG
