Best sports movies of all time. What defines a sports movie? Movies like Rocky and Bull Durham are. But what about Million Dollar Baby? I don't consider it one based on third act, but I've seen it on a few lists.

Rudy gets me every time.

Whether one can include it as a 'sports movie' in the sense the actual sport of baseball is not the central focus but as a sport 'themed' film, mine would be Field of Dreams.

Where sport is actually physically seen or the story is the sport dependent objectivity, then it would be Chariots of Fire.

Remember the Titans. End of thread.

Football: Rudy or Remember the Titans
Baseball: Moneyball
Wrestling: The Wrestler or Foxcatcher
Boxing: Rocky
MMA: Warrior

Any Given Sunday just for Pacino's rousing speech at the end.

As far as halftime speeches go, I like the Varsity Blues one better.

Rocky
Rocky II
Creed
The Natural
Major League
Rudy
Million Dollar Baby
The Fighter
Varsity Blues
Moneyball
Warrior
Brian's Song (I know it's a TV movie, but come on, it's great)
A League of Their Own
Hoosiers
Bad News Bears
The Sandlot
The Wrestler
Cinderella Man
Invictus
The Cutting Edge (sue me, I love it)
Goon
I, Tonya
Eight Men Out
Field of Dreams
Little Big League
Rush
Foxcatcher

Somehow, I've still never seen Remember the Titans, Raging Bull and Bull Durham. No idea why.

Chariots of Fire.
The Bad News Bears.
Breaking Away.
Tokyo Olympiad.
Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown

It has been years since I last saw it, but I enjoyed Slap Shot and thought it was very good.

Is Battle Royale really “sports”?
