Best superhero movie not comic-based?

The Incredibles really hope they make a sequel for it :)

I like Unbreakable--if you're going to go the realistic route, you might as well take it all the way, and that film did. Hated the ending, though.

Incredibles was good, but I dislike the similarities to Watchmen.

Robocop. Damn good superhero movie with a theme you can't get out of your head for days.

Completely agree. One of the few themes that seem to capture the feel of the character. (Why is it that those themes seem to be exclusively in 80's movies?)
Another thing I enjoy its social satire and streamlined, efficient story. The titular character also has a surprising amount of pathos to him, something I wasn't expecting. And, of course, ED-209. Best robot ever.
